The age of propaganda is upon us

Future historians may well describe our present era as the Age of Propaganda. Never before have the forces of government and communications been so completely unified into a single machine, and never before has the truth been so twisted and filtered on its way to public perception.

This is a byproduct of the fact that most people still believe that democracy is a magic force that allows the common man to select his leaders and, thereby, determine his own political destiny. That being the case, political leaders must master the science of public-opinion engineering so the illusion of the ballot box can be maintained while, at the same time, candidates and policy issues can be selected by power brokers behind the scenes.

The Donald/Hillary cartoon at the top of this page may have led you to assume that I am thinking about the U.S. presidential campaign as I write these words, but that is not the case. That would be too easy and far less controversial than my true destination, which is the war than now is raging for control of Aleppo in Syria.

The following two stories from this week’s news are about the propaganda and lies that have been pumped into the public mind by mainstream media. Why this is being done is a story in itself, but it can be summarized as: Opinion engineering to create public support for aggressive wars that benefit the oligarchs who comprise the military-industrial-political complex of the Western world. It is not about fighting terrorism. It is about using terrorism.

Syria: Jabhat al-Nusra unit commander Abu Al Ezz told a German newspaper that his group is supported by the US through the governments of other countries. He said his group is part of al-Qaeda and was affiliated with ISIS, but ISIS has drifted away from fighting for an Islamic Sharia state because it is working with the intelligence services of the US. He stated that, when his army was besieged, experts from the US, Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Israel showed up to supply and train them with sophisticated equipment. Journalist Vanessa Beeley, drawing from her first-hand experience in the war-torn area, says that everything reported in the Western media, not only is wrong, it is deliberately wrong. For example, the ‘White Helmets’, which are portrayed as volunteer, humanitarian first-responders who rescue civilian casualties of unprovoked Russian attacks, really are the same terrorists who are being funded and equipped by the US and its NATO allies to topple the Assad regime. The White Helmet image is a propaganda ploy to create public support for further funding of the terrorists and to draw attention away from the real civil-defense workers from the Syrian government. Philippines: Using Hitler as a praiseworthy example, President Duterte says he would be happy to slaughter three-million drug addicts to save the future of his country. John Kirby, spokesperson for the US State Department, made veiled threats against Russia. He said that, if Putin does not stop military attacks against ISIS terrorists in Aleppo, which are supported by the US, terrorists will launch attacks in Russian cities, and Russian soldiers will be sent home in body bags. US: Congress overrides Obama’s veto of a bill letting families of 9/11 victims sue Saudi Arabia. Obama said it would open the door for retaliatory litigation against the US, but proponents of the bill said it was narrowly tailored so it only applies to governments that sponsor terror attacks on US soil. [In other words, since there is no way that it could be proved that Saudi Arabia actually sponsored the 9/11 attack, this bill has no teeth for what people were told it was intended to bite. Russia has rejected the findings of international investigators of the downing of Malaysian passenger jet MH17. The investigators claim that a Russian-made missile was launched from a pro-Russian separatist area in Ukraine in 2014. San Diego, California: An unarmed black man who had been acting erratic in traffic was shot to death by police after he reached into his pants and then took an aggressive shooting stance, leading police to believe he was armed. CNN 2016 Sep 28 (Story)

Deutsche Bank dropped over 7% in book value and dragged other highly leveraged and interconnected banks with it. Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan Chase each lost more than 2% in value. But the real losses could be much greater. In 2014, Citigroup sponsored an amendment to a Congressional spending bill that allows banks to keep trillions of derivatives on their books as insured deposits, which they are not. Sixteen top officials from Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman’s party are to be charged in one of the largest corruption investigations in Israel’s history. Israeli police arrested 35 political activists and members of the Palestinian Arab Balad political party in the Israeli parliament on allegations of money laundering. The Israeli government is keeping details of its allegations secret from the public and even from those arrested. The UN World Health Organization says that 92% of the world is breathing polluted air that causes 6.5 million deaths per year. The health hazard comes primarily from particulate matter suspended in the air. It’s called smoke, and it has little to do with CO2 or global warming. Obama says he has “ratified” the Paris Climate Accord (which is a treaty) and neither the US Senate (which is the only political entity that has the constitutional power to ratify a treaty) nor the media have called attention to the impossibility of his claim. Religious Jews appeared outside the presidential debate to deliver a statement to the candidates and to the American people. That statement is that there is a difference between the Jewish religion called Judaism and the political movement called Zionism, which is manifested as the state of Israel. Rabbi Weiss, who is the spokesman for the assembled group, says that many religious Jews are opposed to the policies of the Zionist state, especially the occupation of Palestine. Hello Damien.
You have raised a good point. We always face this issue when we find adverse information about political figures who have enemies – no matter which side they are on. We try not to jump to conclusions, but events keep moving forward, and we have to make decisions based on our best judgment or just forget trying to report any news at all.

Our best judgment is affected by the answers to two questions: (1) Does the news item seem consistent with what we know to be true? And (2) Is there information from credible sources that contradicts the news item? If the answers are yes to the first question and no to the second, generally we feel that the item is worth reporting.

Our track record has been amazingly good following this formula. I can recall only two times in all the years of reporting the news that we have had to issue a retraction. I hope you agree that we are following the right policy. Thanks for writing.

First let me applaud you for your comments about your own health experience. Obviously, doctors don’t approve of this because we are not “professionals” but we have found such discussion very informative. Thank you!

Also, I have found that all the medications for diabetes are poison, destroying your pancreas bit by bit. Victoza? Outrageously expensive and pure poison to your pancreas. (My personal experience.) There are already a number of lawsuits against Victoza which is probably why it is so expensive. If you need to take anything, take insulin. Time tested by many people for many decades. It is normal to your body and does not attack the pancreas.

Another miracle supplement is thyroid supplemen-tation. Is has been my wife’s and my observation that doctors do not like to prescribe help for your thyroid because it makes you too healthy and you do not return to doctors. Upon seeing how my wife’s (68yr) health was deteriorating similar to my former experience, she requested thyroid supplementation because she took my “Nature-Throid” and found it indispensable, affecting in a very beneficial way, her whole body!

She requested thyroid medication from two doctors and was told she did not need it by her regular doctor and was “ordered out of the office” in the second case. She went to my alternative care NP and got the prescription, and all has gone very well since. Nature-Throid costs as low as 22 cents a day!

Note: I guess the AMA finally realized that Nature-Throid is a very good medication because they recently stopped the NP from dispensing it in her office.

The enemy of your enemy may not be your friend

We are living in a time when it is increasingly difficult to vote for political candidates or issues that we approve. That is because they seldom are on the ballot. Candidates are carefully selected ahead of time by political power brokers, and voters are left with choosing the lesser of two evils. People no longer vote for someone. They vote AGAINST someone.

Beneath this reasoning is the idea that, in warfare, you cannot be picky about your allies, and that any enemy of your enemy is your friend. It is an alluring concept but it seldom works to your advantage, especially in politics. If you want to rid your back yard of alligators, you would be foolish to import crocodiles to chase them off.

An excellent example of this is in this week’s news. Many advocates of the war on drugs are pleased with the fact that Philippines President Duterte has quickly broken the recreational drug trade. They are not too pleased that there have been hundreds of on-the-street executions of “suspected” drug pushers and users, but they take solace in the fact that the drug problem is solved. The end justifies the means.

Now we learn that, when Duterte was Mayor of Davao, he used his police and civilian hit men to execute his political opponents as well. No drug problem anymore in the Philippines but now there is a totalitarian regime that you better not oppose. Out of the frying pan into the fire.

Those circumstances brought Rome down, and are very likely to bring down much of our current global establishment. …

You are right, we should never fight overwhelming violence with violence, that is suicide. Fortunately, intelligent resistance usually does the job as well if not better. “Non-participation” does not just refer to off-grid preppers, it is everyone who is disgusted with leadership and who finds some way to react. Unthinkable questions about 9/11

The annual commemoration of 9/11 has become a sad tradition in America. For me, it also is frustrating, because that sadness is channeled by the media so that it stays focused only on the loss of lives and the tragedy of broken families.

Those deserve our deepest sympathy, of course, but there are equally tragic elements of 9/11 that are never given media attention. They involve the unthinkable question: Were there people in the United States who had advance knowledge of the attack, who knowingly benefited from it, or even who helped to make it happen?

Below are three video reports by journalist, James Corbett, that courageously ask those questions and then provide the shocking answers. Seals also opposed the Black Lives Matter group, calling it ACTORvists who were motivated by money from Jay-Z’s Tidal music service and George Soros. The reporter of this story implies that the Syrian government is responsible, but the government has been gaining ground against the US-backed rebels and would have nothing to gain from a gas attack that would turn its own citizens against it.
