What media bias?
Many people do not believe that media bias is a serious problem because they think that competing news outlets offset each other. Even those who know that the same bias often is shared by all mainstream outlets have difficulty in seeing it when it happens. That’s because bias, not only alters and withholds information, if well executed it appears to be objective and fair.
This week’s news contains several stories that show this dramatically. Usually, the deception remains well hidden. Professionals rarely bungle the job so badly that the truth breaks through to the surface, but that’s the case in these reports.

New Jersey: Steven Eckel, a retired police officer, used a sledge hammer to break the window in an overheated car to rescue a baby who was locked in it while its mother was shopping. When he was interviewed by HLN, the sister station to CNN, the message on his T-shirt was blurred out so it could not be read. The message was: “2016 Trump”. Google is skewing its Internet service to favor Hillary Clinton. It programmed its search-engine to filter suggestions for people who are seeking information about her health. Google says it is merely avoiding offensive or disparaging terms, but it literally has censored the news. Dr. Drew Pinsky’s popular TV show was cancelled by CNN’s sister network, HLN, following his comments questioning Hillary Clinton’s health. It was the second time he did so. The Syrian ambassador to the UN has contested the UN declaration that the Syrian government used chlorine gas as a weapon. He said that all the witnesses were supplied by Syria’s enemies and that the UN failed to present any physical evidence to validate the report. Twin Falls, Idaho: The rape of a five-year-old child by three refugees did not result in arrests until more than two weeks had passed. Wolfgang Halbig, a school-safety consultant and former Florida State Trooper who has been investigating the Sandy Hook shooting, took his website offline after threats were made against his family. Halbig says that unidentified parties contacted the employers of his wife and son in an effort to have them fired. A prominent District Attorney in San Antonio, Texas, speaks out and blames vaccines for his children’s autism. He says “I know this is not a politically correct opinion”. A false report of gunshots at Los Angeles International Airport started a stampede by terrified airline customers all over the airport, even in restricted areas. Air traffic was grounded for hours, while police searched the area. Traffic on the nearby freeway was mired in gridlock. At the LAX International Airport in Los Angeles, California, a man dressed as Zorro wielding a fake plastic sword drew the attention of police and was in the process of being arrested at gunpoint when word spread through social media about a ‘shooter’ at LAX. Another odd event took place in Prague last week in which phony jihadists wearing masks, waving ISIS flags, and carrying fake but real looking sub-machine guns carried out a fake terror attack. The fact that these men were not killed by police suggests that it may have been a drill. It is possible that all of these incidents are experiments by authorities to gauge public reaction and to test the ability of social media to generate panic and other mob reactions. I was watching a clip off of YouTube last night where some idiot tried to make communism / socialism (according to Marx) a logical thing. I presume that you know Marx was a dead-beat and had to have Engels pay the debts that Marx owed?
Seems like several of the people involved in communism / socialism were caught flat-footed when the “revolution of the proletariat” (brought by the money trusts) happened in Russia. Marx was in Great Britain. Lenin was in Sweden or Switzerland, and Trotsky was in the US or Canada. Marx believed that the “revolution” would happen in Great Britain. How many mistakes was this guy allowed – and people still followed his banner? IDIOTS!

HILLARY DISQUALIFIED FROM PRESIDENCY

Former United States Attorney General Michael Mukasey told MSNBC that, not only is Hillary Clinton’s private email server illegal, it “disqualifies” her from holding any federal office. He cited federal law, Title 18. Section 2071, which says:
“(a) Whoever willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, or destroys, or attempts to do so, or, with intent to do so takes and carries away any record, proceeding, map, book, paper, document, or other thing, filed or deposited with any clerk or officer of any court of the United States, or in any public office, or with any judicial or public officer of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
“(b) Whoever, having the custody of any such record, proceeding, map, book, document, paper, or other thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both; and shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States.”
Shouldn’t voters know that? The media won’t tell them. So it’s up to us.

Thanks for your thoughts on using quotes from Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln was far from an ideal political figure and probably could be considered as the destroyer of the principle of state supremacy in the American Republic. Yet, some of his thoughts and pronouncements were quite worthy of note. I feel that this is much like using quotes from Winston Churchill, which most people would approve, in spite of the fact that he was a conspirator in drawing the United States into World War II and was directly involved in the plot to sink the Lusitania as a means to generate American support for the war. JFK also has some skeletons in the closet, as do Martin Luther King and many other public figures. I feel that trying to reserve our quotation section only for those who are above reproach would be a fruitless task. We prefer to let the wisdom of each commentary stand on its own. I hope you agree with this approach. Thanks for caring about such things and for taking the time to let us know your thoughts.
