Major US grocery chains, including Kroger, Costco, Safeway, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s and Target, are refusing to sell genetically-modified salmon. Even the mainstream news has carried a warning that the long-term safety of the fish is unproven, labeling is voluntary, and the fish could wipe out natural populations.
