This is what happens when the warning is ignored
THE WARNING:
In his 1796 Farewell address, George Washington, the First President of the United States, said: “Observe good faith and justice toward all nations. Cultivate peace and harmony with all. … Against the insidious wiles of foreign influence the jealousy of a free people ought to be constantly awake, since history and experience prove that foreign influence is one of the most baneful foes of republican government. The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is, in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible.”
THE CONSEQUENCES of ignoring that advice are painfully evident in this this week’s news:
The late Saudi foreign minister, Prince Saud al-Faisal, told John Kerry in 2014, ‘Daesh [ISIS] is our response to your support for the Da’wa – the Tehran-aligned Shia Islamist ruling party of Iraq’ after the city of Mosul fell to the US military offensive. In other words, the Saudis created ISIS in response to US intervention in the region that shifted the balance of power to Iran. According to a CIA document, the US approved of this plan and intended to use ISIS to topple Syrian President Assad. ZeroHedge 2016 Apr 20 (Story) (Cached)
In this discussion led by Ron Paul, we learn that the Saudis now admit they first created al-Qaeda and then ISIS. They did this in response to the US attack on Iraq, which gave a political advantage to Iran. Creating terrorist movements, they say, was a countermeasure to weaken their enemies and protect their interests in the region. But the plot thickens. The CIA followed the same strategy when it helped create the Mujahideen in Afghanistan to counter the 1979 Soviet invasion. The bigger picture here is that interventionism, regardless of who initiates it, almost always backfires and causes unintended consequences as bad or worse than those it is intended to avoid. All of this is related to the 28-page confidential report on Saudi connections to 9/11 that may soon be made public. Ron Paul Institute 2016 Apr 21 (Story)
