Orlando: Investigators on the Mateen mass-shooting case say that, even though the gunman invoked allegiance to ISIS during his rampage, they cannot find any foreign links that may have motivated him. Instead, they are looking into his troubled past for the motive – [apparently to build a case for domestic gun control.] CBS News 2016 Jun 17 (Story)
A police officer at a Trump rally in Dallas says that anti-Trump protesters were bused to the event. [No surprise at that, but it is curious that the media has not asked – or at least has not reported – who organized the protest and paid for the busses.] InfoWars 2016 Jun 16 (Story)
UK: The vote next week may determine if Britain will remain the EU. The leftist media is politicizing the murder of Jo Cox, a British MP with the Labour party who supported the EU. The media reports that the attacker shouted “Britain first” as he killed the politician, thus suggesting that those who oppose the EU are nut-cases and killers. Eyewitnesses deny that the mentally ill man said anything. Even if voters do elect to leave the EU, the British parliament may choose to ignore the vote. Stefan Molyneux 2016 Jun 16 (Story)
Hawaii: Last year, a federal judge ruled that Maui County’s ban on growing genetically engineered crops is pre-empted by federal and state law. Since then, the case has moved to a federal court of appeals. If the appeals court upholds the decision, Monsanto and other food-production companies will be allowed to spray toxic chemicals on their crops despite county ordinances that prohibit it – and it likely will set a precedent for overriding local and state laws throughout the US. A hacker who goes by the name Guccifer 2.0 – as a tribute to the original Romanian hacker Guccifer who broke into Hillary’s home server – dumped thousands of documents that he says came from the Democrat National Committee. The documents include the DNC’s research on Donald Trump, donor lists with high-profile names, and ‘secret’ files taken from Clinton’s State Department computer. InfoWars 2016 Jun 15 (Story) (Cached)
A report on Obamacare published by the Kaiser Family Foundation shows that premiums for low-cost plans are expected to increase, on average, 11% in 2017. The biggest increases will be: 16% in New York City, 21% in the District of Columbia, and 26% in Portland, Oregon, The new rates will begin one week before elections, which may hurt Hillary Clinton at the polls, because she supports this program. Iran filed a lawsuit with the UN’s International Court of Justice to recover $2 billion worth of assets frozen in the US. This money was awarded by the Supreme Court to victims of a 1983 bombing in Lebanon that the Court says was linked to Iran. Iran says the Court-directed award amounts to theft. California’s Cap-and-Trade program faces an uncertain future. The scheme was designed to increase government revenue by selling so-called carbon credits, which is merely a thinly disguised method of selling permits to manufacture something. However, the California Chamber of Commerce has filed a lawsuit arguing that this constitutes a tax – and an illegal one at that. Taxes need the support of two-thirds of the state legislature, something that Cap-and-Trade never received. Initially, the carbon tax was pledged to carbon-reduction programs, such as the $68-billion high-speed rail project, but much of the money was put into the state’s general fund instead. David Daleiden, the undercover activist who recorded footage of Planned Parenthood employees discussing fetal tissue, now faces one less charge in court. Today, a judge handling one part of the case against Daleiden dismissed a misdemeanor charge for trafficking in fetal tissue. Israel’s state-owned water company is expanding its program to cut water supplies to Palestinians during Ramadan. Tens of thousands of Palestinians in the West Bank have been out of running water for 40 days, forcing them to rely on groundwater. At the same time, Israel says it has solved its water problems and is exporting water to Jordan and other areas. AntiWar 2016 Jun 14 (Story) (Cached)
France: An ISIS militant stabbed and killed a police commander and his wife at their home near Paris and then was killed by officers who rescued the couple’s three-year-old son. The killer was 25-year-old Larossi Abballa who frequently used social media to call for the murders of police, prison officers, and journalists, often by name. DailyMail 2016 Jun 13 (Story) (Cached)
Reporter Jon Bowne reviews the strange circumstances surrounding the Orlando mass shooting that left 49 people dead. Details include: (1) The FBI interviewed the shooter, Omar Mateen, three times, yet he was not put on a watch list; (2) Reports from co-workers that Mateen was unhinged were ignored. Mateen worked as a security officer for G4S, formerly known as Wackenhut, a company that is contracted with the Department of Homeland Security. Mateen’s father pretended to be the president of Afghanistan and said that gays should be killed. Mateen’s Imam also called for homosexuals to be killed. However, Hillary Clinton’s State Department shut down an investigation of his mosque. Obama has labeled the shooting as ‘homegrown extremism’, but his own federal agencies were major causes of the problem. InfoWars 2016 Jun 13 (Story)
Migrant traffickers are using rented high-end tour buses to smuggle Central American clients across the US border. Migrants are paying between $7,000 and $10,000 to go from an area near the Guatemalan border to a city near McAllen, Texas. ABC News 2016 Jun 13 (Story) (Cached)
Venezuela: Supplies of government-subsidized flour and rice run out while people still are waiting to buy. This leads to daily food riots and looting across the country. Farmers do not want to grow crops, because price controls force them to sell below their cost of production. These are the fruits of collectivism. ODN 2016 Jun 12 (Story)
US: A recent study shows that taxpayers pay almost $20,000 for each refugee and asylum seeker who comes to the US. That number does not include ongoing costs such as welfare, medical assistance, food stamps, and housing. Refugees are incentivized by the government to come to the US. Humanitarian organizations also are incentivized by government grants. 47% of refugees receive cash, 74% get food stamps, 56% use Medicaid, and 22% receive housing assistance. The FDA has approved a new drug for ADHD (attention deficit hyperactive disorder) that contains amphetamine. That is a stimulant also known on the street as speed, yet it now will be prescribed for children as young as six years of age. The drug is highly addictive, and there is no exit strategy. That means these kids will be on the drug for life, will be hopeless addicts, and the cost will be covered by insurance. In 2014, 63 million prescriptions were written for ADHD. That number is projected to grow to 17 billion by 2020. [Another coup for the pharmaceutical industry.] RT 2016 Jun 11 (Story)
