Let's face it - English is a crazy language. There is no egg in eggplant,
nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple. English muffins
weren't invented in England or French fries in France . Sweetmeats are
candies while sweetbreads, which aren't sweet, are meat. We take English for
granted. But if we explore its paradoxes, we find that quicksand can work
slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor
is it a pig.
And why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing, grocers don't groce
and hammers don't ham? If the plural of tooth is teeth, why isn't the plural
of booth, beeth? One goose, 2 geese. So one moose, 2 meese? One index, 2
indices? Doesn't it seem crazy that you can make amends but not one amend?
If you have a bunch of odds and ends and get rid of all but one of them,
what do you call it?

NATIONALIZE THE FED?
2015 Feb 26 from Kent Welton
A "Fed" audit should lead to nationalization, taking operations into our
Treasury Dept, and ending the private bankster-mafia control of our monetary
system. If an audit does not do so then it may be a waste of time as it will
not lead to substantive changes, given "our" current congress. If we had a
National Initiative process the people could vote to end this tyranny. Do
you think you will ever see a poll, much less a discussion, on nationalizing
the "Fed" as per our constitution in the bankster-owned media? A rotten,
money-as-speech, Congress may continue to vote for our debt-money slavery
even as they clamor about deficits. Incredibly, the U.S. government spent
more than 415 billion dollars just on interest on the national debt in
2013... a complete and tragic waste of our tax money.
RESPONSE FROM GEG:
I share Kent's outrage over the Fed's legaized plunder of the Amrican
people, and I agree that paying interest on money created out of nothing to
fund government debt is insult added to injury, but I cannot endorse the
idea that nationalizing the Fed or its member banks is a good idea. Here's
why:
1, Think for a moment about the men who have been in charge of the Treasury
Department for the past 50 years or so and see if you think they would have
done things any differently. For example, the current Secretary of the
Treasury is Jacob Lew, who previously was an investment banker and a Chief
Operating Officer at Citigroup. Before him was Timothy Geithner, who was a
senior fellow at the CFR and now is President of Warburg Pincus, a Wall
Street equity firm. Before him was Henry Paulson, a former CEO at Goldman
Sachs. Before him was John Snow, former Chairman of an investment firm
called Cerberus Management. And don't
forget Robert Rubin, a former top executive at Goldman Sachs and Citigroup
and a member of the CFR.
It is well known that every Secretary of the Treasury has either come from
the bowels of the banking and investment industry or was selected because he
was a reliable ally. The reality is that bankers OWN the Treasury, and
expecting reform by turning the Fed over
to control by its own agents is not a bright idea.
2. A little know fact is that most of the interest due on the national debt
is forgiven by the Federal Reserve. According to law, the Fed may collect
interest on government debt only up to an amount equal to its expenses. The
rest is written off or "returned" as they like to describe it. That means
most of the interest is a mirage. Of course, the Fed's expenses are huge but
nowhere near the amount of interest. Therefore, the argument against paying
interest to the banks ˗ when it could be avoided if the government created
the money itself
˗
is a straw-man argument. If the government did run the Fed, it likely would
cost two or three times more than what it now costs for the banks to run it.
In the end, it would be cheaper to simply pay interest up to the amount of
the Fed's expenses than to pay no interest but have operational expenses.
The real action with the Fed is, not the interest on money created out of
nothing for federal debt, but interest on money created out of nothing for
all the private and commercial loans made by the member banks. THAT'S where
the action is, and its the reason
the Federal Reserve cartel was created. If the Fed were turned over to the
Treasury, this greater swindle would not be changed
˗
unless the rules are changed. Yet, no one who is calling for turning the Fed
over to the Treasury is even whispering about changing the rules. Without a
fundamental change in the rules, even if the government did run the Fed, the
banks would hardly notice any change in their bottom line.
Naturally, the banking cartel would rather remain clearly and directly in
charge of the rules by which they operate but, with the money power they
currently wield, it would be only a slight inconvenience to continue the
legalized plunder more discreetly though their agents placed into government
positions.
3. Those who are calling for nationalization of the Fed or of the banks
themselves basically are saying that we must take this money-creation power
away from those big, bad bankers and turn it over to those nice, trustworthy
politicians, instead. Is there something wrong with that picture?
What's wrong with it is that fiat money is the problem, not who creates it.
True, interest on government debt is an insult when lenders can create money
out of nothing while governments can do that themselves without paying
interest. However, the much bigger problem is the destruction of the economy
through a recklessly expanding money supply. That is what throws
hard-working people into poverty, it is what destroys nations, and it is
what always happens when fiat money is tolerated.
An argument to turn the Fed over to the government, unless it includes a
provision to tie the quantity of money to something tangible (such as
precious metals) is an argument for zero reform except in appearance.
4. Let us cut to the core of the problem and focus on real reform. Real
reform will come only when enough people realize the absolute necessity of a
currency that maintains its purchasing power over long periods of time. We
who are gold bugs are clear in our minds that
gold or silver or some other precious metal is the ideal basis for money and
that it is the only thing that will produce long-term stability. However, we
also believe in freedom-of- choice, and that goes for money, also.
Therefore, even if we had the power to pass a legal-
tender law to force everyone to use gold-backed money, we would not do so.
We believe that, when there are competing currencies and when people are
free to choose the one they prefer, the long-term result will be popular
selection of the best of them all, and it will be accomplished without
government decree or
dependence on the Treasury Department.
That is why principle number five in The Creed of Freedom reads: "I
believe in freedom to accept or reject any currency, or other forms of
money, based entirely upon my personal judgment of its value, because a
monopoly over the issuance of money and the power to force others to accept
it leads to corruption, inflation, and legalized plunder."
BLUE
We are told that Earth is threatened by human activity. The ‘green’
response is to sacrifice freedom, living standards, and property rights
to save the planet. This is not a sustainable solution because it ends
in human servitude to the state. The real agenda is not conservancy of
nature, but political control over people. The new Green is merely the
old Red. BLUE exposes this subversive agenda. (More)

Let's face it - English is a crazy language. There is no egg in eggplant,
nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple. English muffins
weren't invented in England or French fries in France . Sweetmeats are
candies while sweetbreads, which aren't sweet, are meat. We take English for
granted. But if we explore its paradoxes, we find that quicksand can work
slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor
is it a pig.
And why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing, grocers don't groce
and hammers don't ham? If the plural of tooth is teeth, why isn't the plural
of booth, beeth? One goose, 2 geese. So one moose, 2 meese? One index, 2
indices? Doesn't it seem crazy that you can make amends but not one amend?

NATIONALIZE THE FED?

A "Fed" audit should lead to nationalization, taking operations into our
Treasury Dept, and ending the private bankster-mafia control of our monetary
system. If an audit does not do so then it may be a waste of time as it will
not lead to substantive changes, given "our" current congress. If we had a
National Initiative process the people could vote to end this tyranny. Do
you think you will ever see a poll, much less a discussion, on nationalizing
the "Fed" as per our constitution in the bankster-owned media? A rotten,
money-as-speech, Congress may continue to vote for our debt-money slavery
even as they clamor about deficits. Incredibly, the U.S. government spent
more than 415 billion dollars just on interest on the national debt in
2013... a complete and tragic waste of our tax money.
RESPONSE FROM GEG:
I share Kent's outrage over the Fed's legaized plunder of the Amrican
people, and I agree that paying interest on money created out of nothing to
fund government debt is insult added to injury, but I cannot endorse the
idea that nationalizing the Fed or its member banks is a good idea. Here's
why:
1, Think for a moment about the men who have been in charge of the Treasury
Department for the past 50 years or so and see if you think they would have
done things any differently. For example, the current Secretary of the
Treasury is Jacob Lew, who previously was an investment banker and a Chief
Operating Officer at Citigroup. Before him was Timothy Geithner, who was a
senior fellow at the CFR and now is President of Warburg Pincus, a Wall
Street equity firm. Before him was Henry Paulson, a former CEO at Goldman
Sachs. Before him was John Snow, former Chairman of an investment firm
called Cerberus Management. And don't
forget Robert Rubin, a former top executive at Goldman Sachs and Citigroup
and a member of the CFR.
It is well known that every Secretary of the Treasury has either come from
the bowels of the banking and investment industry or was selected because he
was a reliable ally. The reality is that bankers OWN the Treasury, and
expecting reform by turning the Fed over
to control by its own agents is not a bright idea.
2. A little know fact is that most of the interest due on the national debt
is forgiven by the Federal Reserve. According to law, the Fed may collect
interest on government debt only up to an amount equal to its expenses. The
rest is written off or "returned" as they like to describe it. That means
most of the interest is a mirage. Of course, the Fed's expenses are huge but
nowhere near the amount of interest. Therefore, the argument against paying
interest to the banks ˗ when it could be avoided if the government created
the money itself
˗
is a straw-man argument. If the government did run the Fed, it likely would
cost two or three times more than what it now costs for the banks to run it.
In the end, it would be cheaper to simply pay interest up to the amount of
the Fed's expenses than to pay no interest but have operational expenses.
The real action with the Fed is, not the interest on money created out of
nothing for federal debt, but interest on money created out of nothing for
all the private and commercial loans made by the member banks. THAT'S where
the action is, and its the reason
the Federal Reserve cartel was created. If the Fed were turned over to the
Treasury, this greater swindle would not be changed
˗
unless the rules are changed. Yet, no one who is calling for turning the Fed
over to the Treasury is even whispering about changing the rules. Without a
fundamental change in the rules, even if the government did run the Fed, the
banks would hardly notice any change in their bottom line.
Naturally, the banking cartel would rather remain clearly and directly in
charge of the rules by which they operate but, with the money power they
currently wield, it would be only a slight inconvenience to continue the
legalized plunder more discreetly though their agents placed into government
positions.
3. Those who are calling for nationalization of the Fed or of the banks
themselves basically are saying that we must take this money-creation power
away from those big, bad bankers and turn it over to those nice, trustworthy
politicians, instead. Is there something wrong with that picture?
What's wrong with it is that fiat money is the problem, not who creates it.
True, interest on government debt is an insult when lenders can create money
out of nothing while governments can do that themselves without paying
interest. However, the much bigger problem is the destruction of the economy
through a recklessly expanding money supply. That is what throws
hard-working people into poverty, it is what destroys nations, and it is
what always happens when fiat money is tolerated.
An argument to turn the Fed over to the government, unless it includes a
provision to tie the quantity of money to something tangible (such as
precious metals) is an argument for zero reform except in appearance.
4. Let us cut to the core of the problem and focus on real reform. Real
reform will come only when enough people realize the absolute necessity of a
currency that maintains its purchasing power over long periods of time. We
who are gold bugs are clear in our minds that
gold or silver or some other precious metal is the ideal basis for money and
that it is the only thing that will produce long-term stability. However, we
also believe in freedom-of- choice, and that goes for money, also.
Therefore, even if we had the power to pass a legal-
tender law to force everyone to use gold-backed money, we would not do so.
We believe that, when there are competing currencies and when people are
free to choose the one they prefer, the long-term result will be popular
selection of the best of them all, and it will be accomplished without
government decree or
dependence on the Treasury Department.
That is why principle number five in The Creed of Freedom reads: "I
believe in freedom to accept or reject any currency, or other forms of
money, based entirely upon my personal judgment of its value, because a
monopoly over the issuance of money and the power to force others to accept
it leads to corruption, inflation, and legalized plunder."
BLUE
We are told that Earth is threatened by human activity. The ‘green’
response is to sacrifice freedom, living standards, and property rights
to save the planet. This is not a sustainable solution because it ends
in human servitude to the state. The real agenda is not conservancy of
nature, but political control over people. The new Green is merely the
