As many of you know, I have been engaged in the last year in a lawsuit against the Boeing corporation for radiation poisoning, which resulted in over 130 basal cell carcinomas on my face and body, almost totally destroying my right eye, and caused a huge squamous cell carcinoma, which I recently had to have removed surgically.

I believe I was exposed during remediation work at the abandoned nuclear site, called the Santa Susana Field Laboratory, located in the hills above Simi Valley/ Chatsworth in Southern California, approximately 30 miles northwest of Los Angeles. In 1959, this was the site of the world’s first nuclear meltdown and, for the next 30 years, there were ongoing accidents and radiation emissions until they were shut down in the late 1980’s. It is ranked as the world’s 4th worst nuclear accident.

From 1997 through 2005, the Boeing corporation, owners of the facility, were pulling down contaminated buildings, digging up contaminated soil, and shipping the toxic debris off site to landfills in tarp-covered dump trucks.

I lived, worked, and hiked in the area for several years beginning in 1998. The trucks moved the radioactive contaminants at night, travelling through my neighborhood, just ½ mile from my hiking trail and 1 mile from my home. The full story is online here.

For twelve months I have been pursuing this law suit, pro se (no attorney). After three motions on behalf of Boeing to dismiss my case, on May 15th, I appeared in court for a hearing. After careful review of my arguments, the judge dismissed Boeing’s motions to dismiss. This was a major victory for me, because the corporation's attorneys tried every trick in the book and every technicality they could find. I felt so inadequate against their skill and expertise. After they fired their canons at me and the smoke cleared away, to my amazement, I was still standing!

This battle is far from over, but at least my case is moving forward, and I now have a glimmer of hope for justice.

I wish to thank all the wonderful people who helped with my legal fees up to this point by purchasing my art and also those who sent love and good wishes. I could not have made it this far without you.

TWO ISSUES IN ONE LETTER

Dear Mr. Griffin,
One of the articles that bothered me in the last issue of Unfiltered News was the one about the guy who digitized historic documents at no cost to tax payers. Although that was a beautiful thing to see, it's just that the reasoning for not having government perform those types of services isn't based upon financial efficiency, it's because the only valid, rational, reasonable act the government can ever do - should ever do - is protect my Human Rights. When we ask it to do anything else, it ends up violating someone's Human Rights. That is the argument that is valid. Efficiency may be true, but to get bogged down in trying to prove that, totally misses the point - and ends up ensuring failure.

Government is not the sandbox for idiots to try out schemes they can't do themselves - but THAT is what our children have been taught it can be used for. And, is what is implied when you say we have to beef up the power grid. I say, let it fry.

I can assure you that the power companies are aware of what you are asking them to do. But how much do you want to bet that what they are doing about it is finding ways to get handouts from government to finance what you think should be done. Having worked in a company that was a public utility and being somewhat privvy to how it managed its finances, the people scrambling right now are not the hardware folks but the CFOs and their staff. They will probably be consulting with firms that can get them money for upgrades by going to their pals in gov't for a handout - and permission for rate increases until hell freezes over.

The money will be split like this: 50% to the pals who get the handouts (much of which will go to campaign contributions and free publicity). 20% to the financial buzzards as incentives, 20% to the bottom line so the stock will look good, and 10% will go to upgrade the hardware. Of that 10%, 80% of that will go to wages for newhires to make the gov't look good because of job creation. So I suspect that in the end 2% will go to physical hardware upgrades which will probably not work anyways. And, of course, we will live with indefinite rate increases.

What we should be focusing on is Human Rights and demanding that the only valid function of Gov't is to protect them. Any other focus is a waste of time.

Hello Steve. There are two important issues in your letter, and I would like to comment briefly on both of them.

First, you are absolutely correct when you say that the real issue with government is not its inefficiency but its meddling into areas where it has no business being. As you know, it is a major tenet of Freedom Force that the proper function of the state is to protect the lives, liberty, and property of its citizens, nothing more.

The second point is a bit more complex. I know that everything you say about the utility cartel is right, and it is one of the issues we intend to cover in our upcoming documentary. However, I cannot agree that we should let the grid fry because of that. If the grid fries, you die and so do I - and our families and friends and most of the people on this planet. That is not exaggeration. When the power is gone for an extended time, the modern world will collapse to the stone age. I am not willing to simply say, let it happen. We have to protect the grid and THEN go to work to break up the cartels. At least, that's how I see it. Thanks for writing.

IS ENVIOSHIELD SNAKE OIL?

[The following is taken from two emails received in response to our mailing on behalf of EnvioShield, a product designed to combat the effects of toxic chemicals in the atmosphere.]

You should be ashamed to offer this snake oil. There are so many herbs that will do what they claim theirs do, but they are not in there. And synthetic vit C is not good. I know how to get rid of metals and other things. I have done this and the research for years, but this product is NOT it. It is pure crap. All you are doing is helping to rip off people.... take their money.

What people feel is subjective, and the ingredients are responsible for some better health, so people think they are being "cured" of Chemtrail problems. BUT they are NOT removing any significant amount of Chemtrail matter. Where are the blood studies that I have seen of the contamination of blood from Chemtrails being changed in any way by EnvioSheld? They don't exist, because it does not work on them. This is a grand scam.

Hello Ernie.
I am curious about your passionate rejection of the possibility that EnvioShield actually does what it is designed to do. What evidence is the basis of your conclusion?

I agree that synthetic vitamin C is inferior to natural sources, but I also know that it is better than no vitamin C at all, and that only the very wealthy can afford the natural source. In the case of the other ingredients, it is my understanding from anecdotal data going back over centuries that they truly are effective beyond the placebo effect. In any event, I am interested in your sources of information that are the basis of your vilification of this product.

Blood tests and hair analyses before and after EnvioShield are a good idea, and I hope that Matt and Olesya will encourage their customers to do that. When reports are available, we will let everyone know the results -- and please be assured that we will do that even if they show no appreciable difference. It is true that testimonials alone are not sufficient to prove the claim of effectiveness, but to rush ahead and deride this product as "snake oil", "pure crap", a "rip-off", and a "scam" because those tests have not yet been done is not, in my view, a reasonable response.

By the way, I am not overly impressed by so-called scientific studies, especially if done by large pharmaceutical companies to demonstrate the safety and efficacy of their products. As a reader of Unfiltered News, you are aware that it has become the rule, not the exception, that these studies often are falsified to produce the results manufacturers want. Just like politicians, scientists can be bought if the price is right. You have said that testimonials are the lowest form of scientific evidence. I disagree. Fraudulent scientific studies hold that position.
