Sir, I really enjoy the photos (as well as all the articles) that you feature in Unfiltered News, I hope I have sent a photo that may be used in it. While everyone was distracted by the "Ring of Fire" I turned around and shot shadow pictures. Here is one example... We were watching in New Washoe City, NV. I shot this with a Nikon D-300 with a 55-200mm Nikon DX lens, ISO 400 f/22 at 1/30th ... both the lady to my left and I have ALL of our fingers! I know you will get 'many' solar photos but thanks for looking at mine.

GREECE AND THE BANK RUN - A BIG LAUGH!

I laughed at this headline: "A $1 billion bank run is underway in Greece." Why did I laugh? Simple: Let the Grecians "withdraw" all the fiat 'money' they want. The banksters will just pull out their majik wand and depreciate its value down to nothing. These financiers are slicker than a wet eel. They have so many 'tricks up their sleeves' that they don't worry about 'stuff' anymore, esp. since they're backed by every bureaucratic FORCE that exists.

Too bad the Grecian people weren't smart enough to REQUIRE the banks to give them their 'money' in the form of some kind of tangible wealth, like gold or silver coin. Then it'd be a REAL "bank run". Then we'd see a "bank holiday" for the first time since way back when.

We live in an age of the salesman's dream: You can 'sell' your 'product' using FORCE. Plus, you can FORCE the people to be satisfied w/it. In fact, you can FORCE the people to do anything you want, while getting rich off them in the process! Remember Nuremburg!

IN DEFENSE OF 'READ THE BILLS' LAW

Dear Ed,
I believe that 'Read the Bills' legislation (which forces politicians to read any bill they vote "yes" on) would be better than 'Term Limits' legislation, but that both things would be minor victories for the freedom movement.

These two pieces of legislation would be about 25% benevolent, which is better than 0% or a negative value. Neither is a systematic approach, designed to right a sinking ship. G. Edward Griffin and Freedom Force do have such a systematic approach, so their approach trumps the "Read the Bills" and "Term Limits" approaches. That said, I believe the
two approaches are mutually-inclusive (for the most part), or can be made to be, by their manner of implementation.

Regarding forcing every legislator to "Read the Bills," as a tactic against tyranny: This wouldn't do much to stop bad bills from being passed, except to slightly slow down bad bills from being passed. That said, ...Great! I'd like to slow down the passage of any and all bills for the amount of time a skilled liar would have to let pass before he could credibly claim to have read a bill. So, great! Let's subject our unlawful government masters to one more "on the job" obstacle and have the media cast yet more doubt on the credibility of legislators' words.

Politicians sometimes respond to massive citizen pressure.
In many cases, they'd like an "out" that would allow them a
means of not taking responsibility for their actions. The "Read the Bills" legislation would simply be one additional tool in the hands of freedom lovers who were trying to pressure a politician into not voting for a bill. The politician could claim he "needed more time, before he could vote."

Not one amendment in the Bill of Rights keeps government
honest, or constitutional. But they were all better than nothing. The dishonest scum in Washington ignores the 2nd Amendment, but in some states, the states have shamed their politicians --screaming and kicking-- into unrestricted CCW. ANY limitation on government allows citizen watchdogs to throw a monkey-wrench into their scheming, parasitic goals. The "Read the Bills" law is a limitation, and therefore, it deserves at least our passive support.

A LAW TO FORCE LEGISLATORS TO READ THE BILLS BEFORE VOTING YES? AND WHAT ABOUT TERM LIMITS FOR CONGRESSMEN?

The following is Mr. Griffin's response to inquiries about a proposed law that would require state and federal legislators to swear that they have read any bill in its entirety on which they vote Yes.

The problem is not that legislators don't read the bills as much as it is that they wouldn't vote correctly even if they did read them. Most legislators today are collectivist at best and crooks at worst. Making them read the bills assumes that most of them are really fine, upstanding people and, if they only understood the nature of the bills they pass, they would not do it. That is a fairy tale. They know full well what the bills will do and they simply don't care – or worse, they desire the outcome. Many of them are pathological liars, and they would have no trouble lying about having read the bills, anyway. It could be argued that this is "feel-good" legislation that, even if passed, would make no difference whatsoever.

This reminds me of the proposal to limit Congressional terms. It sounds good, but would anything really change? The same uninformed voters who elected the first crooked politician will easily elect another crooked politician as his successor, perhaps even worse. And, in those rare occasions where we are lucky enough to get a good politician, such as Ron Paul, he would not be allowed to stay in office! How silly it all is when the problem is not how long they are in office but what their political principles are. We cannot stop sending political bums to Congress merely by limiting their terms. There is an endless supply. Anyway, their terms already ARE limited to two years. If we don't like them at that point, we simply don't re-elect them. It's our option. We don't solve the problem by eliminating our own options.

We cannot fix problems in Washington with technical formulas, such as limited terms or forcing the reading of bills. We must focus on getting the right people into office with the right political principles. That, of course, is not so easy, because it requires a deeper understanding of political theory and ideology, something that the public has, so far, shown little interest in – but it is the only way out of the mess we are in.
