'Kony 2012' is a video that went viral with almost 80 million hits in 24 hours. It's about a crusade to stop Joseph Kony, a Uganda warlord who kidnaps children and forces the boys into his army to commit atrocities and the girls into sex slavery. The producer of the video wants governments to launch a military action to kill or capture Kony and bring him to trial at the UN International Court of Justice. Several days ago as I left a meeting at our church, I desperately gave myself a personal TSA pat down. I was looking for my keys. They were not in my pockets.
A quick search in the meeting room revealed nothing.

Suddenly I realized, I must have left them in the car. Frantically, I headed for the parking lot. My wife, Diane,
has scolded me many times for leaving the keys in the
ignition. My theory is the ignition is the best place not to lose them. Her theory is that the car will be stolen.

As I burst through the doors of the church, I came to a
terrifying conclusion. Her theory was right. The parking lot was empty. I immediately called the police. I gave them my location, confessed that I had left my keys in the car and that it had been stolen.

Then I made the most difficult call of all, "Honey," I stammered. I always call her "honey" in times like these. "I left my keys in the car, and it has been stolen."

There was a period of silence. I thought the call had been dropped, but then I heard Diane's voice. "Ken" she barked, "I dropped you off!"

Now it was my time to be silent. Embarrassed, I said, "Well,
come and get me? Diane retorted, "I will, as soon as I convince this policeman I have not stolen your car."

I have taken samples from the ground, trees, rivers, snow, and the berries that grow in the forest that we pick and sell. They all have elevated levels of aluminum; in some cases, sky high. I know of lakes that have been acidified and have no fish left. They are extinct. I live in the northern part of Sweden (Norrbotten) and I perform the tests voluntarily. People in Norrbotten blame the iron mills (as SSAB), but I ask them to look up! Politicians are oblivious to a great extent. I personally know a number of them. Where is the answer? Where is the solution? Big thanks to you all.

KONY 2012 QUESTIONS ANSWERED

As Kony 2012 evaporates into thin air like the phantasm it actually was, the concepts and principles involved don't. This is important, because the identical proposition was used as a pretext for the Libya takeover AND the current Syria war by NATO/CIA.

I used to think that intervention in an obvious genocide situation, like in Rwanda 1994, was clear and necessary. And in that situation, if I were President, I would feel obligated in conscience to ask for volunteers to literally police the situation. I realize that this answer opens a Pandora's Box of challenges which have been with us for centuries related to International Law. Ironically, the primary question relates to whether there should be a World Police Force AND what would/could prevent it from being/becoming the new tyrant?

The first step is to investigate the real situation where Joseph Kony is said to be operating. Here, I am at a logical impasse because I can't see any impartial honest group to do the evaluation. I suspect a group of unemployed lawyers would be best suited to the job, preferably most with a criminal law background. If they found that a real person, let's say named Joseph Kony did exist who was currently committing the types of crimes detailed, then:

(Q) Should state military forces be used for this mission or should the soldiers and 'advisors' be strictly volunteers?
(A) Only volunteers in a variety of specialties capable of fitting in with local authorities theoretically under their authority. If the "locals" want to give the foreign troops freedom to interact locally, they must be involved. Very tricky business because need to know local motivations and define the task of capturing the specific criminal indicated.

(Q) If your answer is that it's OK to order men into combat for purposes other than national defense, what is the source of the authority to do so? You will not find it in the US Constitution or in The Creed of Freedom.
(A) No can't do this. Only volunteers... OK to continue their salaries but they'd be working under and for others. If this doesn't work they'd have the option to return home.

(Q) If you believe that such missions are a proper function of the state, would you object to launching hundreds of similar missions around the world wherever warlords or cruel rebel leaders are found?
(A) In a perfect world, my guess is that the best policy is the Henry C Carey concept of spreading the American Method. A kind of Peace Corps could be set up where local warlords can be shown how to do good for their people OR ELSE... a patient OR ELSE. Many questions remain...

(Q) If it could be shown that certain 'respectable' leaders of member nations at the UN also are responsible for crimes against humanity (such as in false-flag operations and aggressive wars for hidden agendas, killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people), would you also approve of states sending in commando-like teams to assassinate those leaders?
(A) Isn't that kind of like what we have now except the policy is to assassinate the good guys?

MAKER OF KONY-2012 ARRESTED FOR WHAT?

Dear Mr. Griffin,
What amazes me most about the Kony-2012 campaign is the rate at which people are seeing through it. Immediately after the video went viral there where sarcastic comments about the movie's call to action; that somehow sharing a movie on Facebook would save the poor children in Africa. A day later a great many moviemakers and analysts are showing the propaganda for what it really is: a call to war in Africa.

All this blowback has apparently had its repercussions on the movie's creator, who is now admitted to the hospital for running around town naked and, according to one account, masturbating in public. [His wife says that criticism of the film "had an effect on him."]

It is clear that the elite have lost the control they were used to having on popular opinion, and that they are experimenting with new ways to regain this control. It seems to me that this was their latest and greatest experiment. Though extremely sophisticated and very much in tune with today’s Facebook generation, the collective intelligence has poked through it with ease. It seems like the elite are hoping that the young will hail in the New World Order with waving banners and enthusiasm. Better propaganda will follow. We must remain vigilant and expose lies whenever we see them.

A CONSTITUTIONAL SOLUTION FOR THE KONY PROBLEM

My opinion:
State forces should never be used for such missions. However, the US Constitution allows the legislative branch to make "private" or "volunteer" armies (Article I, Section 8), "... To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, ...".

It should be noted that while the United States recognized the Treaty of Paris of 1856 settling the Crimean War (signatories of this Treaty agreed against the use of "private" or "pirate" armies) and the need to quell "pirate like activity" on the high seas and elsewhere, the United States was not a signatory of this Treaty.

Here are my answers to two of your questions:

1. The U.S. has no constitutional authority to send troops to kill or capture anyone. No War should be allowed without the permission of Congress. As sick as it sounds, there are plenty of mercenaries willing to kill for money. Additionally, the U.S. does NOT have a right to police the world or sanction countries (in prep for the New World Order) for not conforming to U.S. dictates.

4. Governments have no authority to assassinate anyone [except in time of declared war]. The people outnumber their governments. The people need to wake up and take their countries back. It's time for a world-wide revolution. In the U.S. we need to start by voting out all politicians that don't follow the organic laws of the country, including the Constitution.

I was not convinced to take action as described in this video. It is a tragedy that this is happening in Uganda. Here are my answers to the questions:

(1) Government soldiers should not be used.

(2) There is no source of authority to send U.S. soldiers for this mission.

(3) If you support this mission, then you cannot object to hundreds of other "humanitarian" missions carried out by the U.S. government or other governments.

(4) I do not support assassinating leaders of other nations [if we are not at war with them]. If the leaders are so bad, let the people of those nations overthrow them.

The message of Kony 2012 is pretty powerful. If there are enough people who feel strongly about capturing/killing Kony (and are convinced by the evidence against him) then, instead of a campaign for the U.S. or other governments to do something militarily, the money, time, and effort should be used to organize volunteers to complete that mission. Who knows, maybe a hundred thousand volunteers without guns could find Kony in a week.

The whole thing is a sham! What a misdirected waste of money and attention. What they should have done is offer a reward of a few million dollars on the guy’s head, dead or alive, and invite some “Rambozo” unit volunteers to go after the character. Instead, they are wasting millions on advertising (making a celebrity out of the guy), lobbying and sending in U.S. “advisors” as if they’ll do anything. It’s just another way to get the U.S. to send in troops to another war field where they’ll never come out again – another Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, ad nauseum.

I was very disappointed to read that Unfiltered News’s position on the Kony 2012 story is that the film’s solution “is well thought out”. The wisdom of international meddling aside, did you not question the intentions of the video’s creators as I did? Did the film’s oversimplification of the issue and its blatant, emotional manipulation not raise red flags? What about the potential for misuse of the viewers’ data, collected ostensibly for “updates”? Does one evil man who hasn’t been active in years really qualify as Public Enemy Number One? I am appalled that those involved with this website would fall for this sort of obvious tripe, let alone encourage the legitimizing of the UN in any way. Surely Mr. Griffin does not endorse non-defensive US military action, under any circumstances, in this day and age? Perhaps I have misunderstood his message all along; if that is the case, the many hours I have spent watching his lectures (and taking notes) have been for naught.

Your comment is exactly what I was hoping to receive from our readers, although I must admit that I had not anticipated that anyone would think I endorse the video. I agree with your critique of the project, which is the reason I included the questions I did. It was my intention to cause people to come to their own conclusions rather than merely reading an editorial rant from me.

You quoted me as saying the film's solution was well thought out. Had I actually said that, I could understand your harsh opinion of my analysis. However, what I actually said was that the PLAN was well thought out – and, indeed, it is. Even though there is much to criticize in the film's SOLUTION (military intervention, aggressive wars, irrational selection of which bad guys to go after and which ones to ignore, etc.), I must give the film's producer credit for the well-thought-out strategy of mobilizing public opinion. Those of us who advocate force only for defense, not aggression, would do well to master some of those techniques, especially the use of social media, creating a virtual "community" focused on a single issue, and bringing pressure to bear on Congress. Admittedly, I could have made it more clear that, when I praised this strategy for mobilizing the public, I was not praising the goal of military interventionism. For further insight to my long-time commitment to this stance, please read the last paragraph of The Creed of Freedom, which has been the ideological gyroscope of Freedom Force since 2002.

In summary, I apologize for not making this distinction more clear when I posted the link to Kony 2012, and I thank you for your response to the film. It is precisely the kind of perceptive analysis I hoped would be forthcoming from our readers.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to the comment I left on the Freedom Force website. I am so relieved to hear that I was wrong about my conclusion that you had endorsed the Kony video. You are absolutely right: I misunderstood your position (“solution” vs. “plan”), and I happily stand corrected.

It is difficult to express just how instrumental you have been to my own awakening. I have watched every one of your available lectures, and have even used a few of them to help educate my 14-year-old son (whom I now homeschool), and so I thought I understood your position very well (and, thankfully, it seems I do).

We live in perilous and utterly unique times. America was the first—and only—nation of its kind, built upon individual liberty and unalienable rights granted to us by our Creator, not by men. Can it be that we have given up such a singular treasure for hollow promises of security just a few short generations later? I, for one, am willing to sacrifice as much as our Founders were willing to in order to save America from destruction, but I don’t yet have a plan other than refusing to participate in my own demise. I loved your analogy of the cruise ship being taken by the pirates, and I, too, believe this country needs to stage a (dignified) rebellion, but I don’t know where to start. Most people I know think I’m too extreme in my concern about where the country is headed; if only they really knew what I thought!
