FINAL COMMENT ON ABORTIONS IN CHINA

Hello,
Let me clarify that forced abortion did happened in China a few years ago done by abusive officials in rural cities. This was allowed because there were no specific laws to forbid it. A friend of mine's cousin was arrested a couple years ago when she was 9 months pregnant (it was a boy). Since she already has two daughters the abortion was carried out. The upper government has eventually banned this regulation and no incidence has been reported since.

While this kind of abuse is absolutely heartless, there are many unthinkable misdeeds western governments impose upon The People. Maybe these are the reasons that the world will soon execute a major "correction" Only God knows.

DEBATE CONTINUES ON ABORTIONS IN CHINA

Dear Daniel,
Sorry but one article from a western publication, or even two or three does not convince me. I still believe it is, for the most part, propaganda.

Since putting pen to paper I have made a concerted effort to further investigate what I could regarding the subject. I have been coming here for twelve years and for the last 5 years I have spent nearly half that time in China. I am not a tourist so I do get off the beaten track at times. I also know a lot of people here. I also had an employee in my Australian company that took time off once or twice a year to come here and mission and she managed to get into more out of the way places than I do and she also has never had any first, second, or third hand reports of situations like what was stated in that article. One house does not make a city.

A couple of people out of the ones I have spoken to in the last week or two regarding this subject admit there have been incidents where officials will try and convince women to abort their babies but for the most part there is a financial penalty instead. I also know that they frown on babies being born out of wedlock but in saying that they certainly encourage the ideals of a family unit far more than I see in the west. I happened to have the honour of being on the bridal table of a wedding only days ago. Divorce is very rare here and till death do us part actually means something. They also look after their elderly parents and don’t throw them into homes and forget about them. The family is incredibly important to their culture.

When you talk about human rights abuses I only need to look at the latest events in Libya or the way that protestors are dealt with in the west. China, believe it or not, has far more freedom for the average person than any western democracy I know. If it was not for my loved ones at home I would have no hesitation in migrating here. I would urge you to come and see for yourself and not rely on what you read in the western media. There may have been one or two incidents in the past but then you are only getting one side of a story and I try very hard not to form opinions until I have heard both sides or any argument.

I don’t mean to be critical of you Daniel and I am certainly not trying to be condescending but I am here and you are obviously not. I have no hidden agenda and I am not Chinese. I will state again for the record that I personally know many families that have two children. I even know one that has three young children and I know they have had to pay for that privilege. It is not a perfect world but from what I can see there are more human rights abuses currently going on in the west than there are here. Far more!

I was reading through the latest Unfiltered News and saw the article about the raw-milk issue (the right to choose our food issue) and wanted to bring your attention to a monumental court decision here in Ontario concerning dairy farmer Michael Schmidt. A judge has overturned a previous decision giving freedom here in Canada for us to be part of a farm-share, cow-share program whereby we can consume raw milk (which I'm a member). The root of the issue is our right to choose what we want to consume.
