AL GORE, CREATOR OF THE INTERNET AND GLOBAL WARMING

Recently, Al Gore and other warmists have claimed that the more severe
winters experienced over the past three years are a sign of global warming.
They’ve even gone further to claim that global warming theory had predicted
this in advance. This is completely false, and nothing more than a game of
revisionist history.
First, we can see predictions from the supposed “utmost authority on global
warming”, the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (the IPCC). Their
annual reports are available online, and we can see the one from 2007, prior
to the run of harsh winters. It clearly states that, due to global warming,
we should expect “fewer cold outbreaks; fewer, colder, shorter, less intense
cold spells / cold extremes in winter.” (Reference)
A senior research scientist from the Climatic Research Unit in East Anglia
(of ClimateGate infamy), in reference to milder winters and less snowfall,
went so far as to say “children just aren’t going to know what snow is.” (Reference)
NASA’s James Hansen, head of the Goddard Institute tasked with tracking
global climate, had also chimed in (back in 2008) with a comment on recent
warm winters in Britain being a sign of global warming. We didn’t hear him
attribute colder winters and heavier snowstorms to climate change until
after they actually occurred. (Reference)
One common note from the warmists: climate change theorists did predict more
severe storms as a result of global warming. While this is true, they
specifically called out increased thunderstorm, tornado, and hurricane
activity, and made no mention of winter storms (beyond predicting that they
would be milder, shorter, and less intense). Alas, even their hurricane
predictions have fallen flat. Global hurricane activity has been in a
five-year freefall, culminating in record and near-record lows in 2010 (and
some scientists are already changing gears, claiming that reduced hurricane
activity is consistent with global warming theory). (Reference)
If Al Gore could find one reference in An Inconvenient Truth
regarding harsher, colder winters, and more severe snow storms, he mighthave
a modicum of credibility. Instead, these claims have fallen into the same
file as “Al Gore: Creator of the Internet”.

Mr. Griffin,
I think it is best to be prudent with somewhat "out there" claims like
backwardation in the silver market. Antal Fekete tried to create a frenzy
about this when it happened to the gold market
a while back. What ended up happening? Absolutely nothing. Nobody heard
from him again. There is a good case to be made for why precious metals will
do well, but it is dangerous to search for the "it" moment when prices are
just going to explode and the whole world will fall apart. I think it harms
the credibility of the individualist/freedom movement.

As an airman stationed at McCoy AFB, Orlando, during 1959 – 1960, I had the
pleasure of logging 40 hours in private flight from coast to coast in
mid-Florida, and fell in love with this country, its beauty and vast
waterways. Since then my wife and I, both from the Los Angeles area, have
spent another 40 years in this fascinating, pristine wonderland of South
Brevard County, where we can thoroughly enjoy time with our three children
and seven grandchildren. The point being that, as with many Floridians, we
take enough pride in what is naturally here, that we will defend it with our
lives and fortunes.
At this time of year we should expect to see lovely clear blue skies, dotted
occasionally with pure white cumulus clouds. Two weeks ago the deep blue sky
on several clear days was quite astonishing, even to this old veteran. But
that was soon to be destroyed by traitors to our natural unalienable rights.
I become emotionally distraught while witnessing or discussing the daily
pollution of our skies that begins with thin white trails, suspected to be
from aluminum, barium or strontium dust particles, then all to soon
devolving into thin haze that dulls the deep blue of winter’s skies,
obscures detail in the occasional white clouds, gives ocean horizons the
dirty look of smog, and promises horrible effects on both plant and animal
life, which includes that of we Floridians. This is an outrage! (More.).

(This is in response to an article posted in last week's issue of
Unfiltered News entitled Mexican government successfully sheds the US
Dollar from its economy.
My brother travels to Cabo San Lucas 3 or 4 times each year, and this is
what he has to say about the People's Voice baloney: "It is BS. They
only limited the amount of $ one was able to exchange at the banks at any
one time."
This erodes your "expertise" in your Reality Zone and The Creature from
Jekyll Island. You need to investigate the veracity of your copy before
you publish it.

Hello Richard.
I thank you for calling my attention to the error in this article. I agree
with you 100% that we should have been more careful about confirming the
claims made, especially considering that the source was a web site that is
closely aligned with Marxist/Leninist ideology. When I scanned the article,
I completely missed the fact that its source was The People's Voice,
and there is no excuse for that oversight. We know that we cannot rely on
the objectivity of this source, because one of its primary agendas is to
belittle and discredit the U.S. wherever possible. So I apologize to you and
to our readers for not picking up on that.
However, much of what was in the article is true. We have confirmed that
Mexico is, indeed, in the process of rejecting American Dollars, although
the process certainly is not complete. Individual bank account holders are
limited to deposits of only $4000 monthly in U.S. currency, while those
without accounts are allowed to exchange up to $1,500. Companies working
along the border or in designated tourist areas can conduct bank
transactions of up to $7,000 monthly. This, for a business, is very small.
KFC restaurants in Mexico refuse US dollars in cash but accept credit U.S.
cards.
KPBS Public Broadcasting says this: "Pack your pesos if you plan to fly out
of the Tijuana airport. The airport will not accept US dollars starting
September 11th (2010)."
This is from a travel agency: "The most noticeable differences to Apple
Vacations’ customers will be: (1) Hotels and Exchange Booths will only be
able to change a maximum of $1,500 USD CASH per person per month into
Mexican Pesos. (2) Businesses (including Amstar DMC in Mexico) will only be
able to accept a maximum of $100 USD CASH per transaction - but the number
of transactions per customer is not restricted. (3) Certain businesses may
not be able to, or may choose not to accept American Dollars CASH for any
purchase at all"
The error in the article, therefore, was in claiming that U.S. cash was no
longer accepted in Mexico. It should have said that it is being severely
restricted. Thanks again for prompting us to me more careful in the future.

result. On March 25th 2011 I will be joining the ranks of the unemployed as
my job is being cut because of budgets. OK, so I don't work and won't pay
any federal taxes. Let's take that thought and apply it to all working
Americans. It's time we all joined the unemployed and see how well Uncle Sam
likes that one! No one works, no one gets paid, and no one pays taxes to
support the government. We all stay home till further notice. Just stay home
and do whatever you want. We go back to work when we say things are fixed or
the politicians leave their jobs due to no paychecks coming to them because
no banks are running to process the federal payrolls. Keep this going long
enough and you will have no government.
No commerce running anywhere. No trucks hauling gas or food. No Wal-Mart!
See how well Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barack Obama, Tim Geithner, and Ben
Bernanke like having no services at all, no one to fix their cars, no TV, no
one to haul away their garbage, no one to pump their gas, no stores open. We
are tired of them and their world government socialist aspirations and
finally say "Get lost!" They can fix the problems now or get out of
Washington DC for good. They can't do anything about it if we all choose not

Hello Mark.
I share your desire to bring the ruling collectivists to their senses, but I
am not enthusiastic about your plan. I have studied the collectivist mindset
long enough to know exactly what they would do if the scenario you advocate
were to be even partially implemented.
First of all, the government does not need taxes to pay its expenses. It
simply creates whatever money it needs through the Federal Reserve, and
citizens pay the bill through inflation. Taxes are used primarily for the
redistribution of wealth, not funding. Recall the recent
multi-trillion-dollar spending spree by Congress for bailouts and so-called
stimulus programs. That did not come from taxes. It was newly created money
courtesy of the Federal Reserve. Your plan to starve the government by not
paying taxes is not based in reality.
Secondly, all collectivist states, ours included, welcome scarcity,
hardship, hunger, riots, war, disease, crime, or anything else that gives an
excuse to declare martial law. The conditions that would exist as a result
of the scenario you advocate would be so horrible that most citizens would
welcome troops in the street, government food and water distribution
centers, population re-location, seizure of private property, forced labor,
mass arrests and possibly executions of those who have criticized the
government, who would be publicly blamed for causing the breakdown of civil
order. Collectivists would finally have their utopia.
I like you passion, but I must decline to endorse your plan.
