ABOUT THAT DARNED MULTIPLYER EFFECT

Ed, in some of your presentations, you say words to the effect that a bank, upon receiving a deposit of say $10,000, turns around and loans out 9 or 10 times that amount. I have tried very hard to understand this, and I can't. It is so counter-intuitive - How could the bank lend out something that it doesn't have? It flies in the face of all accounting procedures and common sense.

What I understand really happens is this: The bank receives the $10,000, lends out 90% of it ($9,000) which the borrower uses to buy (for example) a car. The $9,000 then goes to the seller of the car, who puts it into his bank, and the seller's bank then lends out 90% of the $9,000 or $8,100 to a new borrower. This process repeats itself many times, with new borrowers, new items purchased, new sellers and new deposits by sellers into new banks. The overall result is that, as a result of the initial $10,000 deposit, the system as a whole contains an additional 9 or 10 times the original $10,000.

Only when I gained this understanding of how the money is invoked, not by one bank, but by a remarkable system of interacting banks, borrowers, depositors and collateral, did I feel satisfied that I had a realistic appreciation of the process. I have gained much insight from your work, and I welcome any clarification of my understanding. Thanks.

Hello Greg. You are correct in your understanding. Usually when I mention the multiplier effect and say that the bank can lend more than it takes in, I explain that people should be aware that this is an oversimplification of the process but that, when all the ins and outs are considered, it works out the same. If there were only one bank in the whole system, then it would be true that one bank could do this, but most people are not interested in such fine points. Each bank in the system is participating in deposits of money originating with other banks as well, so each bank does, in fact, have a benefit similar to that which they would have if they were the only bank in the system. They all work together and become one in effect if not in technicality. For a more detailed analysis of the process, click here.

I had a conversation today with a friend who is a mother of three and undecided about flu shots. Her pharmacist told her that, "these vaccines have no more mercury than a tuna sandwich." I'm somewhat incredulous over that statement, but the bottom line is that I don't have the answer. Possibly another question might be, "what are the effects of ingesting mercury, vis a vis an injection?" Anyone have the answers? Thanks.

Please, when you’re doing your crash course on money, whatever else you do, DO NOT suggest that America go back on the “Gold Standard.” I understand that you are a supporter of going back on to the “gold standard.” This is very dangerous, as I will show you.

There are many people in various parts of the world who mean well, but many of them can’t see the perils of “The Gold Standard.” This is EXCACTLY what Rothschild wants, BECAUSE ROTHSCHILDS OWN ALL THE GOLD! Hope this makes sense, but “money” should be based on real value of productivity. Nothing to do with gold. All the gold in the world could sink below the waves tomorrow, and it would make no difference to our economic situation, or our productivity. It’s just a useless, pretty metal, with a “man-made” value. The “gold standard” is a clever hoax. Please wake up, and wake up others.

Did you know that Rothschild sets the price of gold every day, on the world markets? IT’S A RACKET! He’s laughing all the way to (his own) bank, at the stupidity of the goyim!

Sorry I can’t agree with you, but I do appreciate your taking the time to express your view.

The Rothschilds do not own all the gold or even close to it. Most of it is still in the ground, in the ocean, and in private hoards. Even if they did own all of it that presently is in the form of bars, that would just drive up the price and stimulate gold mining so that new supplies would quickly come into production – as now is happening around the world. When the price hits several thousands of dollars per ounce, it will be profitable to extract it from the oceans, and there is a limitless supply from that source. It's just a question of the natural balance between supply and demand - without a committee of politicians and
bankers drafting a magic formula and using coercion to redirect human resources.

Bankers may hoard gold (because they understand its value more than most people) but they have always done everything possible to prevent a gold-backed currency. If they wanted it, they could have had it long ago, but they have always worked against it. Why is that? It’s because they can acquire far more wealth by expanding the money supply at will and collecting interest on money created out of nothing than they can by having limits on their money supply and collecting interest on a much smaller amount of gold-backed loans. Bankers love to possess gold but they hate a gold-backed currency because that limits their money supply and, thereby, limits the volume of loans.

Any system other than precious metals is dependent on human decree and manipulation. It must inevitably end up no different than any other fiat money. I am familiar with the social-credit scheme and find it lacking in merit. It is a social engineer’s fantasy. It does not line up with human nature.

Gold has always worked well as a monetary base throughout history. It can’t be improved upon. We must not fall for the line about gold being just a pretty metal, etc. It has intrinsic value even if not used for money, it does not deteriorate, it can be divided into small units and recombined again if necessary, it is scarce so it has great value in a small space, and, best of all, it can be precisely measured for purity and weight, which allows for units that are beyond human judgment and human manipulation. It is the perfect money.

OBAMA WINS 2010 BOSTON MARATHON

BOSTON - President Barack Obama won the 2010 Boston Marathon on Friday in a stunning decision designed to encourage him to quit smoking and keep running to stay in shape. The Boston Athletic Association announced their decision to name Obama the winner even though the race will not be run until 18 April 2010 because the president has the desire to win and has good intentions.

In announcing Obama the winner the president of the BAA said, "We must rise above the out dated measurements of what a person actually has accomplished and focus instead on their intentions and what they say they will do. Intentions and talk are what drive the world." Congressman Barney Frank and Chinese Vice President XI Jinping seated nearby reiterated these words.

The BAA also noted that no president has won the marathon before. This would set a good example for all future presidents of the United States and for other countries such as Iran and North Korea that intentions really matter.

Many observers were shocked by the unexpected decision before the race has even been run. However, when told of his win the President said he had really been thinking a lot about keeping in shape, talked with staff about cutting back on his smoking, and even read an article about the Boston Marathon.

Obama added that wining the Boston Marathon was better than any other award he has received including his Nobel Prize, Tony for best performance by leading actor, Emmy for outstanding lead actor in drama series, Golden Globe for best performance of an actor in a comedy, NASCAR Champion, World Series Most Valuable Player, Best TwitterPage, and Teleprompters of America Best Reader.

WHY ARE WE STILL DEPENDENT OF FOREIGN OIL?

According to reader comments, there are many, like myself, who have concerns about our 'oil' dilemma. We are heavily dependent in the US on gasoline, but it is only one of the many thousand petro-chemical bi-products of oil. Plastics, paints, varnishes & thousands of synthetic products are oil derivatives in various forms. Without oil, hundreds of industries would grind to a standstill.

My question still remains unanswered, namely, if, according to Lindsey Williams and several oil pipeline engineers, there are ample oil reserves in the ground in several locations in and around Gull Island at the Alyeska Pipeline Co., and, if the estimated reserves are roughly equal to the Middle East estimates,and, if Alaska is still in US territory and belongs to the American people......then WHY, WHY are we dependent on foreign oil? And what of the additional so-called government oil reserves?

here is a government entity called the D.O.E. ( Department of Energy) employing several thousand people which has been costing the taxpayer millions of dollars since it's inception some 30+ years ago! It's alleged primary function is to alleviate our dependency on foreign oil! Would someone please enlighten me as to what purpose the D.E.O. has served for all these years, other than to add more to the government waste of the taxpayers money??

It would be reasonable to assume that, in addition to the Alyeska oil wells, there are several other oil producers out there. I would appreciate some feedback from readers on this issue. Meanwhile, ongoing research into other energy sources such as wind, solar, hydro & so on should continue.

Hi to you. I find, as someone who refused to take the blue pill many years ago and not knowing where to find a red one until recently, I am liking your site and the many posters' comments.

Even MSM's are having to publish alternative views ,that are more in line with the truth .I watched a recent video where a guy with a megaphone ranted how people should ignore go back to work and keep doing what they were told to do and ignore people talking against the Govt . It seems that peaceful protest that have the true message have no momentum ...Actually they usually meet with the black shirts ...The daily show has a very good audience and is very educational .Satire .Maybe we should beat a BIGER drum than they beat ...Yea Lets Kill Most of these Iranians ..It doesn't matter that they haven't gone to war [ invaded ] another country for 2500 years ..They must be a threat! Then next we can have a go at China ...Surely they deserve it .Next Russia . I say we circle the globe and invade all countries ..Then we turn on the indigenous peoples within each country until its only us left ...Oh wait ...I guess we have to leave out Israel from the equation ,but you get my rant.

I'm sorry I can't attend your course, but I do have a money question that perhaps you can answer in your newsletter... What is the significance of the DJIA:Gold ratio if it gets to 1:1. I'm thinking the two will meet in the middle somewhere, but I don't know what that will mean for the average person or the country as a whole. Can you explain? Thanks.

Hello Dusty. I don’t see any particular significance to that ratio except that, if it happens, it will reflect the fact that the free market is still functioning to some extent. I see no magic-number component in this. It’s just a reaction of the market to supply and demand, with recognition of the fact that the Dollar has become all but worthless as a measure of value in the stock market - or anything else.

I think you will find this interesting. The reports of the Obama Nobel Peace Prize award in the St. Petersburg Times and Bay News 9 have produced hundreds of comments via e-mail from disgruntled and disgusted readers. My own comments re-enforced their views, but I added that Obama & his Socialist "Motley Crew" were not the problem...they are basically 'Puppets' who receive their directives from a higher source from behind the scenes.

I said that the Nobel Prize issue is just one of the many distractions to lead the public away from addressing the real issues that are facing our nation. I suggested that if anyone questions the validity of this fact, then DO THE RESEARCH and discover for themselves WHO the "puppeteers" are, and offered some of the following; Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission,Bilderburg Group, Federal Reserve ad infinitum. There were comments from others that suggested checking out Bilderburg Group....... They remained posted for a time and then, curiously, they disappeared along with others who had made similar comments! The lists of readers comments was quite extensive with the usual negative & sometimes insulting comments, but they remained posted since they were essentially non threatening. Several readers e-mailed Bay News 9 and St. Petersburg Times asking why our comments had been deleted in our 'freedom of speech' society. Of course, I did not expect any response because I believe that they know why I would not expect a response! If we needed some evidence of internet or Media censorship, then the removal of our comments is an indication that this is indeed a fact. Also, by erasing readers comments it has brought attention to themselves and more questions from readers will follow.....such as "What are they afraid of?" or "Do they have something trying to hide?"

It would be interesting to get some feedback from our subscribers who have had similar experiences?

REPORTS: LARGE NUMBERS FALLING ILL FROM FLU-MIST NASAL SPRAY

I live in Wichita, KS, and my mother-in-law works as a medical transcriptionist from her home. There are several elderly ladies who work for this medical transcription service, which receives recorded audio and written notes from doctors and patients and transcribes them into patient history files.

I was just informed by my mother-in-law that her co-workers at this medical transcription service are greatly alarmed at the number of people who are being admitted into local hospitals in the last few days because they went to get immunized with the nasal form of the flu vaccine, FluMist.

They are coming in greatly ill and in large numbers. This, of course, is receiving zero local news attention. There are news stories that emergency rooms are very busy, but they report that it is because of the flu, not because these people have in common that they received FluMist.

PROBLEMS WITH THE PRESENT HEALTH CARE SYSTEM ABOUND

The recent person who questioned that everyone should have access to reasonably priced health care through the US system must not have been there himself as I have. His belief is somewhat of a Darwinian approach where "entitlement is the REAL culprit", and supposedly your own fault if you become ill. Gee, how humanitarian of him!! And of no concern to the 20,000 or so who died last year, because they could not get access to care. The winners take it all, the losers have to fall or die, whatever!! While they don't turn you away in emergency rooms most cases(there have been some), the charges of $1,000-2,000 + per visit are not unusual, and one overnight stay for routine tests cost me over $10,000 in one hospital. At the time I last visited, I was not covered with major insurance(I can't afford $4-500 a month?), and I was not employed. I recently heard a speech by Rick Santorum, a former senator, who said that several factions had already sold their souls to obtain the money they deemed necessary from the health care system.

The trial lawyers will not be confronted about malpractice suits, because too many in Congress are scared of them it seems. The start of Medicare came about because the market system and charity were not doing the job for our elderly Americans. To their benefit, we do have the best doctors and surgeons anywhere, which is why foreigners come to our medical schools. But if you can't get insurance or have to pay through the nose to get access, what is the alternative to avoid more serious illness or death? In my case, it was a kidney stone which felt like a precursor to it, but the emergency room does stabiIize you. If you need open heart surgery on the spot to save your life, is that going to be rationed to only those that can pay for it?

I'd personally rather see doctors earning a good income than to see insurance executives making multi-million dollar incomes after they've turned down many claimants as the medical gatekeepers. The reform they speak of now is not true reform if the interests for every health care system provider must be protected from compromise.

Countries like Germany have allowed alternative methods of health care for many years , yet we seem to be way behind in that respect also. NO wonder we are ranked so far down the list in terms of the outcome of care for patients. I saw the US ranked 38th somewhere.
