IS COLLOIDAL SILVER THERAPY SAFE?

Dear Sir,
I am a little worried about the wholesale use of colloidal silver in the treatment of this Swine Flu especially. From the Dr Mercola website he specifically advises against it because of what it is. It appears that the Colloidal Silver causes a specific chemical reaction with this complaint that is not good for the human body. Dr Mercola suggests Vit D as a better substitute for colloidal Silver and definitely not the Tamiflu Vaccine.

GEG REPLIES:
I am not aware of any unhealthy chemical reaction to silver except when the particles are too large or the exposure too great – and you really have to work at it to accomplish either of those when using modern colloidal and ionic silver generators. By the way, I am aware of at least two generators that do an excellent job of creating true ionic silver in truly therapeutic quantities.

For every case of a so-called “blue man,” there are hundreds of thousands of cases of safe and effective silver treatments. As you know, silver is perhaps the world’s greatest bactericide, and it has been used safely for centuries. Even the blue skin from overdosing is a harmless side effect. The Mercola article confirms all this, so I see no reason for concern, although caution is always wise.

I agree that Vitamin D should be a great treatment for any kind of flu. However, if a deadly strain should appear, I would want silver therapy in addition to vitamin D therapy – to be safe - especially if silver vapor could be inhaled directly into the lungs where the primary infection is localized.

Dear Ed, When I here or see the term social health care, it makes me wonder if anyone is for social health care, social security or any social benefit does that mean that they are a socialist? And to say that those benefits are free is one of the most ignorant statements I have ever heard. We are not a socialistic country, we are a Constitutional Republic ruled by law not by the majority. Socialism does not work and never will work. What is the answer to the health care problem? Be responsible for your own health and I will be responsible for mine and if I make bad choices then I will suffer the consequence of those choices and it will be my problem not others. I know that that sounds harsh but that is the way that I believe it should be, let the free market decide and I will make my choice what kind of help I need with my heath care may it be traditional or alternative or none at all. Be responsible for your self and I will be for mine.

Hi,
I very much appreciate all the reports you bring to our attention. However, sometimes I just can't stand anymore. The story about the IRS being even more omnipotent in our lives is just too much! I stopped reading the newspapers and watching the news on TV many years ago because it just made me cry. So much sadness, so much injustice, so much insanity, name it... I couldn't take anymore of it. It's not that I don't want to know what's going on, it's important to be informed, of course. I guess I can only take so much. The same is true with what you present here on your website. I think I'll have to take it in much smaller doses. My soul screams out at the horrors of today's world, the government of this country and others, and I so wish I could do something that would change it all for the better. Of course, that's impossible on the material levels, I would need all the money and power in the world to implement real changes worldwide. On some spiritual levels, however, I might be able to be more effective, but in a more general way, I suppose - righting as many wrongs as I could with Divine guidance and help. In my view and beliefs, it's about the only way to effect the sort of changes I see to be necessary. I greatly admire your work here to keep us informed and knowledgeable about what's really going on in the world, but I can't take any more of it. It hurts my soul to no end. I'll keep my subscription and save your newsletters so my husband can read them, but I can't cope with it anymore. Thank you so much for being here, I'm checking out for now, but I'll never leave!

I respect your views on freedom. However, with regard to the health care system, your views are blinding you to reality. As a Canadian citizen, I have complete freedom of choice to choose my doctor, my hospital, and my drugs. The same holds true for the British system as well. Your statement that “freedom-of-choice would be completely extinguished” (under a government run health care system) is totally false. It’s clear your bias trumps your ability to see reality.

The reports I have received from Canada and the UK do not support the image of great freedom-of-choice. My own observation has been the same. In the 1970s, I made a trip to England with the specific goal of studying the government health-care system there. I witnessed a great lack of choice, horrible delays, and (with the exception of one large hospital in London) antiquated and dilapidated facilities, some of them over 100 years old and looking like a movie set for a Charles Dickens novel. Very few people I met were as enthusiastic as you are. In any event, political systems always deteriorate with time. We shall see what the future will hold. The process is continuing, and "the fat lady ain't sung yet." Thanks for writing.

I was glad to see Donna B. comment about the, alleged, Dept. of Energy ( or lack of ). After spending an average of $25 B annually by this aimless department of the government, we are now more dependent on foreign oil than ever! It stands to reason that this “bureaucratic elephant” was initiated by former President Carter. Look at all the “great ways” the D.O.E. has reduced our oil imports. Samuel Bodman who heads this governmental joke has the nerve to take a paycheck for all this federal ‘tomfoolery’. We are burning fossil fuel at the rate of 68% of total use in the U. S. according to the figures from the D.O.E. itself. Does this make sense to anyone other than the employees of the Dept. of Energy? That is about the extent of it.

Don’t look for anyone in THIS administration to cut back on the funding of our useless, bureaucratic elephant. Political cowards will not get involved in cleaning up this mess. The best thing we can hope for is that the smart voters start WRITING to their elected officials to start a firestorm which would initiate action for a bill in the House. Hope and pray hard on that one too. Patriots, stay strong. Don’t give up. Have your “voices” heard.

The Art of War is a well-known book by Tze, in which is applies some of the principles of Chinese Philosophy to develop various strategies. SInce you've already identified the two important complementary variables: Individualism and Collectivism - the white and black portions on the Tai Chi Symbol. (See also Fuzzy Logic - Bart Kosko)

I thought you might be interested in my interpretation of the black spot in the white area - hidden collectivism or totalitarianism
and the black spot in the white area - hidden individualism or correlated individualism.

If we now apply this martial art technology to the problem of how we might overcome totalitarianism, one strategy would be exactly what you prescribe - through the action of correlated individuals - individuals who act independently, but guided by the same knowlege and principles!

I hope you find this of interest. Thank you for enlightening me: I now know what I have to do as an independent individual.

1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.
2. An old friend who once saved your life.
3. The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.

Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing that there could only be one passenger in your car? Think before you continue reading. ....

This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of a job application. You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus you should save her first. Or you could take the old friend because he once saved your life, and this would be the perfect chance to pay him back. However, you may never be able to find your perfect mate again. The candidate who was hired (out of 200 applicants) answered:

'I would give the car keys to my old friend and let him take the old lady to the hospital. I would stay behind and wait for the bus with the partner of my dreams.'

Sometimes, we gain more if we are able to give up our stubborn thought limitations. Never forget to think outside of the box.

Does anybody out there have any memory of the reason given for the establishment of the DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY ..... During the Carter Administration? Anybody? Anything? No?

Didn't think so! Bottom line ... We've spent several hundred billion dollars in support of an agency...the reason for which no one can remember. Ready??????? The 'Department of Energy' was instituted on 8-04-1977 TO LESSEN OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL.

And now it's 2009, 32 years later... and the budget for this NECESSARY department is at$24.2 billion a year. It has
16,000 federal employees and approximately 100,000 contract employees AND LOOK AT THE JOB IT HAS DONE! This is where you slap your forehead and say "What was I thinking?"
Ah, yes, good old bureaucracy...

And NOW_ we are going to turn the Banking System, Health Care & the Auto Industry over to government? May God help us !!!

Obama's health care plan will be written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it and whose members will be exempt from it, signed by a president who smokes, funded by a treasury chief who did not pay his taxes,
overseen by a surgeon general who is obese and financed by a country that is broke. So... what could possibly go wrong?

USA & BRITISH HEALTH SYSTEMS COMPARED

I am a Briton who has enjoyed living in the USA for 18 years and can compare the health care I received in the US with that which I now receive in Britain.

At an age of 84, I every day celebrate my treatment under the British National Health Service. I am certain that, without the NHS care I have had, I would have been dead 10, or 15 years ago. I have a pacemaker, a digital hearing aid, and take many prescriptions each day, all at no cost to myself. I have had several stays in hospital, for various problems, and have always been full of praise for my care while a patient. I can choose my doctor, choose my hospital, and there is never any charge for anything.

Doubtless, with an immensely large organization such as the NHS, bad situations can occur. But I can assure you that I have never found anyone here who is not truly proud of this wonderful British institution. It makes me sad, and angry therefore, to see the slanders, and libels, being perpetrated against the British NHS, in the US, in order to preserve, what is, to my mind, a wicked, evil, system of exploitation.

As a long time reader of the truth it is time for me to throw my .02 cents in. Regarding Obama ? He had a shrewd campaign manager. Obama is not smart. A good speaker ? OK. But he cannot stand on his own w/o a ‘prompter.’ He has had relatively little time in politics. He seeks to be an enforcer of the socialist, left wing agenda for Soros, MoveOn, ACLU, etc. And the Dems had the nerve to call Sarah Palin inexperienced ? What’s that story about the ‘pot and the kettle’?

When Obama came out with his idiotic CHANGE credo so many voters did not ask two questions that ANY intelligent person would ask. First is WHAT do you want to change ? Next: How much will it cost ? Obama has come to lie about transparency, union support ( Japan profited from ‘Clunkers’ ), earmarks ( 9,000 in the ‘stimulus’ bill ), cap & tax ( contradicting his statement about that ), and now the “fabulous” healthcare bill. Either Obama is delusional, stupid, or the nations biggest liar in the history of the U.S. A pretty good mix at any rate.

A contributor to this column wrote that he thought America reached it’s high point of stupidity when Clinton got re-elected in ’96 – now Obama. I could not agree more. But when you examine the issues of HOW Obama got elected it feels like 1933 Germany. How did he do it ? He fooled the following groups of voters: the unions, the seniors, the college kids, the Jewish voters, and a lot of independent voters. All these groups of voting blocks did not stop and take the time to ask the CHANGE question. What and how much ($). I used to get upset when some Europeans used to all Americans the stupidest voters on the planet. After seeing a tried and true American patriot get defeated by a community organizer, I doubt if I will debate that subject anymore. America, you have let the fox in the chicken coup. Be prepared to face the consequences.

WHO WILL CAST THE FIRST STONE AT HUCKABEE?

Dear Ed,
I followed the links (as best I could) that Connie Ruffley had quoted from about Huckabee. I give credit to Alan Stang, he writes well. My question is; what are his information sources on Huckabee? Again following the links....from newswithviews to judicialwatch....I can't help but ask "who watches the watchers?" Ad infinitum.

Let us be honest, if we dig deep enough into anyone's past, something, however small, will be found to discredit them with. Allow me to borrow an old quote from an old book; "Let he who hath not sinned cast the first stone." In present day vernacular that would translate into something like this; "Is there anyone here who can honestly say that he has never done anything wrong?" And further, if he could possibly prove it, we should certainly consider him for leadership!

I have heard that the CFR had been in contact with Huckabee, and with their long arm of influence, ( e.g. Rupert Murdock's association with CFR ) it would not be at all surprising if he were made an offer he could hardly refuse....his own TV show. Huckabee has been discredited, in part, by Connie Ruffley and Alan Stang over some of the songs & lyrics he performs. Stang even quoted some of the lyrics in his article. Ed, if I were to dig into all the lyrics of the hundreds of songs that my wife and I sing at shows & dances, though mostly oldies but goodies, would we then, be discredited (if running for office) because the words to some of our songs are offensive to some people? Would that disqualify me if I chose to run for office? Entertaining people has taught us that it is impossible to please everyone.

When considering all the other candidates, it was my opinion that Huckabee was the lesser of many evils. So now, what choices do we have left? To the best of my limited knowledge, there remain only two choices; Ron Paul and G. Edward Griffin.....and I know Ed is not interested! That leaves Ron Paul..... and even if the many millions needed to promote him were available...and if he were successful in gaining the Presidency, he would be totally surrounded by enemies of the worst kind. His loyal supporters (us) would only be able to protect him for so long......The real power needed to combat this insidious adversary is in the people. We need to work harder at EFFECTIVELY getting the word out to the unsuspecting American people. If it takes getting Mr. Griffin, ( who is best qualified) on the Huckabee show to get the media exposure he needs to get the word out, then surely saving our nation is far more important than Mr. Huckabee's choice of Southern Rock music. If he is, indeed a phony Minister, then we can be fairly certain that God is aware of it and will know best how to deal with him. If one does not believe in God, then it becomes a moot point.

Whether it is Huckabee, O'Reilly, Hannity,Lou Dobbs or Glenn Beck is not the point.....the point is, doing whatever it takes to let the American people know what is happening behind the scenes before it is too late! We all want what is best for our country and people, so please let's try and work together as Americans...Americans who care.
