U.S. SUPREME COURT SAYS STATES ARE NOT ENTITLED TO SECEDE FROM UNION
EXCEPT BY FORCE OF ARMS. OF COURSE! THAT'S WHAT THE CIVIL WAR WAS ABOUT.
See page 18 of TEXAS v WHITE:
"The Constitution, in all its provisions, looks to an indestructible Union,
composed of indestructible States. [74 U.S. 700, 726] When, therefore, Texas
became one of the United States, she entered into an indissoluble relation.
All the obligations of perpetual union, and all the guaranties of republican
government in the Union, attached at once to the State. The act which
consummated her admission into the Union was something more than a compact;
it was the incorporation of a new member into the political body. And it was
final. The union between Texas and the other States was as complete, as
perpetual, and as indissoluble as the union between the original States.
There was no place for reconsideration, or revocation, except through
revolution, or through consent of the States.
"Considered therefore as transactions under the Constitution, the ordinance
of secession, adopted by the convention and ratified by a majority of the
citizens of Texas, and all the acts of her legislature intended to give
effect to that ordinance, were absolutely null."
The Law Study Group, 2009 July 9
GEG'S RESPONSE:
I guess Skip hasn't actually been reading Unfiltered News. If he had,
he would know that we have been highly critical of the Israeli government
when it's policies violate human rights and when it supports the
collectivist New World Order. We have pointed out on numerous occasions that
the Israeli and United States governments do not represent the best
interests of their people in either foreign or domestic policy. This
critique, however, has nothing to do with "Jews" or the "Antichrist," which
appears to be Baker's main hang up. We will be glad to drop him from our
subscriber list.

SAME OLD "ANARCHO-CAPITALISM"
Molyneux is certainly prolific, and his videos are attractive, but it's the
same old "anarcho-capitalism" that's been peddled for decades (though it
seems to be more popular in England).

THE WORD "ANARCHY" SHOOTS ITSELF IN THE FOOT
The word "anarchy" shoots itself in the foot for most people, I'm afraid. I
don't believe government (small g ) is tantamount to tyranny, as Molineau
seems to believe. His thinking on the nation state and immigration are also
well off the mark, as you point out. A republic comprised of states is
merely a well defined outer body with well-defined inner borders that allow
the people to administrate or "govern" themselves efficiently and according
to their most local needs, traditions and circumstances. A nation based on
anarchy would be an easy mark for takeover, since like in a chessgame,
position and momentum are everything. If you are always "catching up" with
your enemy, you are sooner than later lost. Realities must be accounted for.

CAN THE CONSTITUTION BE A SOCIAL CONTRACT?
Dear Ed,
I was most interested to receive your critique, in the Freedom Force
Monthly Report (excerpt below), of Stefan Molyneux's "Statism is Dead"
Youtube video. I've been a member of Freedom Force for some years and have
lately been studying Mr. Molyneux and others of similar thought.
Your critique points are well taken, but most break down on a central
premise, which you mention as a given but which is fundamental to the bulk
of your argument. That point is the notion of a Constitution being a "social
contract" upon which a government or protectorate structure could be
constructed. It's a nice concept but I'm afraid I see no possible mechanism
by which a true "social contract" could come into existence on a broad scale
amongst individuals. To wit, I was born in the United States and therefore
am allegedly party to the current social contract of the Constitution of the
United States. By what mechanism did I (as a self owning individual,
responsible for my own life and answerable for my own decisions) become
involved in such a contract, which I only really even started to be properly
aware of in my mid-life? Was it by virtue of birth? If so, how can that it
be construed as a voluntary decision on my part to participate? Given that I
do decide at some point that I want to be a part of this alleged contract,
with whom am I engaged in this contract, and is their participation
voluntary? If I decide that I don't want to be a party to the alleged
contract, what then?
I agree with you that if the founders had included more of the
principles into the Constitution that it would have had more longevity.
But it still would have had the fatal flaw of a collectivist premise.
Again, a valid contract must have clearly defined parties and a meeting of
the minds. "We, the People of the United States" can't possibly be viewed
rationally as a clearly defined party. And most adults can scarcely be
considered to have come to a "meeting of the minds" regarding the
constitution, much less a child of age 0.
I'm afraid that, no matter how I look at it, I keep coming to the
conclusion that the concept of "the constitution as a social contract"
can't possibly be valid in any framework of individualist thought, but
fits nicely in the framework of collectivism. I agree with you that the
paradigm truly is that of "individualism vs collectivism" and on that
premise alone, your argument breaks down.
I agree with you very definitely on one point: Mr. Molyneux is rather
arrogant on the subject of religion. As with many atheists, he has some very
excellent points which are conclusive within their frame of
reference, but then uses that brush to paint broadly anything religious
or spiritual. At the very least, this unnecessarily offends some who
might otherwise be more receptive, and thus be lead by another route to see
through their own blind spot. At the worst it might show a
materialistic blind spot of his own, which paints truth only within his
own current frame of reference, ignoring the possibility of a more
embracive one.
Sincerely, John Ferguson
REPLY:
Hello John.
Thank you for your thoughtful response to Statism Is Dead.
I can see the point you are making about the Constitution not being a social
contract between each and every citizen of the state. That is technically
impossible, as you point out, because it would require the informed,
voluntary acceptance of all its terms by every person affected by it. With
that strict interpretation, the phrase "social contract" has no useful
meaning, because it can never exist except within a very small group. So
what do we call it when it is necessary to devise a set of rules to limit
the power of the state to a defensive function? Perhaps we should just call
it a charter or constitution and forget the phrase social contract.
Although I can understand the problem with that phrase when applied to large
numbers of people, I feel it still serves a useful purpose in the context
within which it is used here. As with most words and phrases, the dictionary
offers numerous meanings, and we are not bound to accept only the most
restrictive one among them. When we are born into a family, we inherit a
social contract with our parents based on the norms of our culture even
though we lack the intelligence or independence to choose otherwise. Until
we are of sufficient age, we are subject to those norms even though we never
agreed to the contract.
When we move into a neighborhood or go to work for a business firm or join a
social organization, we accept the terms of whatever agreements are already
in existence within those structures even though we are not given a copy to
study and sign. If we know of or discover any features which we disapprove,
we are free to attempt to alter them or, in the extreme, to remove
ourselves. This applies equally to the state, provided it is a protectorate,
because, in that event, there would be no restrictions on one's freedom to
move to another state. So long as we voluntarily remain in the neighborhood,
in the business firm, as a member of the social organization, or a citizen
of the state, we become a "consenting" party to the existing rules. If our
social club votes to exclude anyone who cannot speak English and we remain a
member, it is logical to assume we either approve of the measure or feel
that it is tolerable. It is in that sense that we use the phrase social
contract. The bottom line is that the set of rules by which the state is
regulated do not have to be called a social contract, although I personally
feel that it is a perfectly good description for most purposes.
I am delighted to know that your critique is based primarily on semantics.
Thanks for carting about these important issues.

VIEIRA'S PIECES OF EIGHT TO BE REPUBLISHED
Responding to numerous requests, I have tentatively arranged for a reprint
of my book Pieces of Eight: The Monetary Powers and Disabilities of the
United States Constitution (2d rev. ed. 2002).
In light of the current and accelerating meltdown of America’s monetary and
banking systems, this book is more timely, and should prove more useful to
public officials, public-policy analysts, attorneys, economists, historians,
and patriots in general, than ever before. This will be a first-class
reprint of the original two-volume, 1,722+ page, hardbound and Smyth-sewn
edition, protected during delivery in shrinkwrap. It will be produced by one
of the premier book printers in the United States. (More)

Mr. Kurtulus wants us to provide evidence that Glenn Beck is an "operative?"
How beautifully absurd! Shall we produce a paycheck stub from the CIA? And
if we could, would we be charged with exposing an agent as was Lewis Libby

admitting that you believe corporate media actors to deliver you "news." I
imagine you think Michael Jackson was a lunatic, but I need PROOF! Give me
documentation proving Michael Jackson was a lunatic, or any such claim is
wild and irresponsible. If you can't see Mr. Beck for the fake-crying

documentary evidence will lift your delusion.

NATURALIZED CITIZEN WORRIED ABOUT THE U.S.
Dear Ed,
In a previous letter I shared a very small piece of information regarding
the GULAG. In remembrance of those untold millions that perished in the
Gulag death camps under the brutal totalitarian regime of the (then) USSR, I
feel it necessary to correct the underestimated numbers I gave you. Between
1930 and 1950 an estimated 50+ million prisoners perished .The earlier
Gulags from circa 1917 to 1930 were even more difficult to estimate, due in
part, to an appalling lack of inmate record keeping. Some pundits opinions
may vary based on their information sources however, the death toll numbered
in the millions.
Ed, it is so important for us to remember and honor those countless souls
who died in those death camps. It is even more important today for our
"desensitized" society to realize that there is nothing more precious than
life.....and the Freedom to enjoy it fully. It is urgent that we share these
segments of history with the world and with as many people as possible. They
need to know and learn and realize that living under Socialism, Nazism,
Marxism, Communism or any ism will result (AGAIN) in the deaths of more
millions globally. Particularly for those who oppose the laws of the New
World Order! If we allow it, history will simply be repeating itself. The
kind of misery we will be forced to endure from (existing) living in
subservient fear of a governmental dictatorship is unimaginable. If we allow
the global manipulators to continue to consolidate their power and complete
their agenda, it will be too late!
The USA is still a free & beautiful country in many ways and believe me, I
feel honored to have become a naturalized citizen, in view of this, I am
even more deeply concerned about the dangerous direction in which our
country is going. There are going to be those who view these issues as
'alarmist' or 'exaggeration' and to those I say; try & find the time to read
'The Creature from Jekyll Island' and 'Fleeced' and 'Revolution' and do the
research.. Get informed!
Very sincerely yours,
Stan

OWNER OF FOX NEWS IS MEMBER OF CFR/TRILATERAL COMMISSION
While I share some of the back & forth views from readers about Glen Beck
and Alex Jones, please allow me to share some observations regarding
opinions & facts. Favorable opinions about popular TV news personalities
such as Hannity, Lou Dobbs or O'Reilly are invariably fueled by believing (
or wanting to believe ) that they are sincere and trustworthy. On the other
hand, distrust will usually create a negative view of the person. Whether
negative or positive, our opinions are significantly influenced by the
likeability & audience appeal of the personalities in question.
Ask the hypothetical question of why many of us do not trust everything we
hear & see on Fox News? (or any media) Is it because we know more than they
are telling us? So it now becomes a matter of our own judgment as to whom we
can trust. Opinions are usually based on observation and shared observations
with like minded people usually tend to lend more credibility to the issues
in question. Facts are another matter. First, we need to establish what
facts pertaining to what issues? Then, where can these facts be found? And
how do we gain access to these facts? Further questions arise as to the
credibility & source of these facts, who documented & compiled the data? How
can they be satisfactorily verified? One can easily begin to understand that
providing PROOF about the status & background of any given personality is a
daunting task. If anyone has any answers regarding the HOW, please let me
know.
Some facts, of course, can be readily accessed. For example, I queried the
ownership of Fox News and discovered that the owner is a long time member of
CFR/Trilateral Commission. Does that perhaps give us a clue as to why we are
not getting the real news behind the news? Is that perhaps why our good
friend G. Edward Griffin has not yet been invited to be interviewed on any
of the major networks? It has to be abundantly clear that we have only been
getting the incomplete news!
Finally, let us remember that some of the above mentioned personalities are,
after all, providing news and entertainment! They are paid handsomely for
what they do and enjoy their celebrity status and quite rightly so. It is
reasonable to believe that there is a measure of sincerity in what they say,
and that they do a good job of conveying the news, however, it is, for the
most part, entertainment, and showbiz is all about ratings!

HOW MUCH TIME DO WE HAVE?
Dear Mr. Griffin,
I am glad I found your website. I have investigated all sorts of theories
and everyone around me thinks I'm nuts. I've known about this for over 30
years and I have found very few people who's mind has been open to our
plight. They can't or won't see what's happening.
With the rate of speed Obama is introducing legislation, how much time do we
have to exact change? He's at warp speed and I am truly afraid "they" will
have the country in shambles by the end of the year.
I am passing around "The
Chasm" as I feel that this is the best evidence I can show an
ignorant (and I mean that in a kind way) audience. Where are we at? How long

Hello Anna.
Thanks for your vote of confidence. How much time do we have? The answer is
that we are out of time and, by the same token, we have all the time we
need. We are out of time to avoid a serious melt down in the economy and in
the state of personal freedom, but we have the long road of history to
rebuild and bring about a new world of freedom based on individualism. This
is the mission of Freedom Force
International, and I invite you to become part of our global
brotherhood.

WHICH IS BEST: GOVERNMENT, ANARCHY, OR PROTECTORATE? An analysis by
G. Edward Griffin of the video series entitled Statism Is Dead.
Statism Is Dead is a five-part video commentary by Stefan Molyneux
that will challenge your deepest convictions about political reality and the
nature of government. It can be viewed on YouTube
here. If you
are in a hurry, you can start with Part Three and get the main message
here.
I recommend that everyone watch this presentation even though I have several
fundamental points of disagreement, which I will get to in a moment. The
points of agreement, however, are numerous, and they relate to certain
features that need to be discarded from our present political environment if
we hope to build a better world for future generations. It is for those
insights that I commend this series.
Mr. Molyneux makes an unassailable case for the inevitable degeneration of
government, any government, into a totalitarian regime. Based on the
widely held belief that governments should have an unrestricted monopoly on
coercion, it is inevitable that predators will gravitate into government and
convert it to a legalized criminal syndicate. (More)

WORLD
WITHOUT CANCER
The Story of Vitamin B17
by G. Edward Griffin.
Mr. Griffin marshals the evidence that cancer is a deficiency disease—like
scurvy or pellagra—aggravated by the lack of an essential food compound in
modern man’s diet. That substance is vitamin B17. In its purified form
developed for cancer therapy, it is known as Laetrile. This story is not
approved by orthodox medicine. The FDA, the AMA, and The American Cancer
Society have labeled it fraud and quackery. Yet the evidence is clear that
here, at last, is the final answer to the cancer riddle. Why has orthodox
medicine waged war against this non drug approach? The author contends that
the answer is to be found, not in science, but in politics—and is based upon
the hidden economic and power agenda of those who dominate the medical
establishment. This is is the most complete and authoritative treatise
available on this topic. (More)
